Full Version: 1850 mech mek's
Da WAAAGH > DA SLUGGA AND CHOPPA (WH40k Orks) > DA KLAN ROSTERZ
det
So i decided to have a brake from my blood axes mechanised force and moved to a different list. Basically i just got hold of all the units i didn't use and made a list out of them.

HQ

big mek, KFF, BP, EA: 95 pts

big mek, EA, BP, burna, KS, attack squig, oiler: 90 pts

EL

lootas: 14: 210 pts

burnas: 11, 2 meks with BS: 165 pts

TR

sluggas: 20, nob, PK, BP: 160 pts

shootas: 20, nob, PK, BP: 160 pts

shootas: 20, nob, PK, BP: 160 pts

dread: BS, skorcha, plates, rigger: 100 pts

dread: BS, skorcha, plates, rigger: 100 pts

HS

flash gitz: 7, more dakka, shootier, painboy: 255 pts

BW: BS, KK, plates, rigger, ram: 175 pts

BW: BS, KK, plates, rigger, ram, stikkbom chuka: 180 pts

I put burnas plus KFF big mek in the BW with BS, while gitz go with the other mek in the other BW.
Boyz and dreads slog it behind or something, while lootas act as firebase.
BW move 12" first turn usually, and then KK is put to good use as are the occupants.
It's a nice break from the all mounted light infantry approach.

EDIT: edited 2nd big mek and BWs weapon loadout.

That's nice I'v never used a big mek list so i might give it a try, you will have to let us know how it gets on.

The only "problem" i foresee is you only have 3 scoring units for objective missions. May cause a problem in your strategy.

Other than that seems like a fun list to play! ;D
det
that's why i upgrade a grot mob to a boyz mob...just a bit more resilient!

Uhhh, I see 5 scoring units.

dreads can't hold objectives as they are vehicles. A real pity, but this it's how it is.

I will probably move the oiler from the KFF mek to the other mek, and try to run it with burna and something else, while not using cybork body due to modeling issues.
det
mek has BP, Ea burna, KS and attack squig now.

A question: the troops...sluggas or shoota?? won't use special weapons for them, just basic boyz lead by Pk toting nob...
det
in the end i opted for two shoota squads and a slugga squad to act as a backup: the shootas advance, fire and help the occupant of the BWs while the sluggas follow and countercharge where needed. winkingOrk.gif

I decided to change ths list a bit...swapping a footsloggin gmob for a trukk-mounted one. Now the question is...better shootas or sluggas for the trukkerz?

Bumping this since i changed some models around and run a different build.
Changes are not too great (namely burnas swapped for 'ard boyz, upgrade one dread BS to KMB and had to get the points somewhere) but there are.
