Right I've been asked to make a tutorial, personally I think youtube video I posted in my build log was good enough.

Video in question:

He made three great models.

So Here is my best step by step assembly guide.

Golden RULE:
I AM EYE BALLING ALL MEASUREMENTS DON'T ASK ME FOR A MEASUREMENT I DON'T KNOW!

Tools:

  • Superglue
  • Ruler
  • Box Cutter (or some other model knife)
  • Clippers
  • Tweezers

Materials:

  • A nob, I used ones from the Nob box and an old Assault on blackreach nob
  • Plasticard (030")
  • A garage sell sign
  • Plastic Rod & tube for the pistons (I used Evergreen Plastics 217, its an all in one kit enough for 3 nobz)

Step 1: Model Prep:

Right here is the base model I am working on he's an old conversion with a peg leg.

Before:

After clean up:

20140711_195207_zps2a77763c.jpg

Right this next part is important, trim away the raised parts on the chest and  cut away anything hanging on the belt:

20140711_195915_zpsc1896f19.jpg

Step 2: The boot:

For this start by gluing a spare bit of sprue onto the base of the shoe:

20140711_200452_zps67ffde38.jpg

Next to make it easier to I glued two small pieces of card onto the extenstions. The bottom piece of card is going to broken off so don't use too much glue on it:
20140711_201024_zpsa90490f0.jpg

Because this guy has a higher heel I made the back of the boot first using strips of card that I glued into place, you'll notice they are long but thats not a problem you'll uses a pair of clippers to trim it down:

20140711_201931_zps8a02d3e8.jpg

The next part is trimming I used my clippers some sand paper and my hobby knife its really easy just remember to give you glue 5 minutes to set:

20140711_202303_zpsca9fa2fb.jpg

The final part is the front of the boot, Just take another strip of card and bend it so you can make the front round keep it extra long, glue it into position then trim after the glue has set. To make the top band I just used a think sliver cut from a garage sale sign:

20140711_205312_zps46dd43e0.jpg

I noticed that I forgot to add a tab to the end heel, but I fixed that,

next well make the lower backpack.

Right so I am back here is the next part, these models take longer to make when your making a Tutorial, lots and lots of pictures.

So start with some meduim size rod and tube, like I've written before use  the stuff from  Evergreen Plastics 217 you'll have more than enough to make 3 of these guys.

20140711_212016_zps44ee2d65.jpg

Glued in position, notice that the nubs sick out a little wider than the boots:

20140711_212101_zpsb83ecc66.jpg

The next part is making the bottom part of the armor, you'll need to "roll" it be gentle it will take a moment, then it on:

20140711_212328_zps52c47f5f.jpg

It rolls around to the back:

20140711_212332_zpsfec7a482.jpg

With this done, I made the backpack. The Assault on black reach nob has a bent back but I just added a flat plate. The barrel thingy is off the flame thrower for the Deff Dread I had the bitz in my box but anything that looks engine like will work:

 20140712_105221_zps544bca35.jpg

Right at the point STOP!, you'll want to do some detailing before contuining the Pistons on the legs will make riveting and detailing a real pain, I added spikey bits to the boots and a lot of rivets:

20140712_110803_zps6735a4ad.jpg

(also on a side note I rebuilt the Bionic leg to be more orky)

Right the next part are the pistons, if your using Evergreen Plastics 217 kit you have plastic rod and tube for this. I ran out of rod so I am using Brass Rod, you can as well but it just takes more time to cut:

20140712_111502_zpsc02823cc.jpg

The piston assembled:

20140712_111715_zpse68692d4.jpg

Here it is glued in place, notice that the top connection is a bit tenuous, we'll reinforce it the next step:

20140712_111754_zps268b21f7.jpg

Notice this small bit of plasticard between the two pistons I glue it in after placing one of the pistons the blue the other to it.

20140712_114649_zpsc111dc00.jpg

Once you glue on all your pistons add some small bitz of card to the ends (notice they are extra long glue them on then when the glue sets trim them to length)

Long tabs:

20140712_115146_zps73cea313.jpg

Trimed ends:

20140712_115157_zpsddcd9e86.jpg

20140712_115652_zpsc385d6ae.jpg

You might also want to add some more rivets at this stage.

So to finish off the lower pistons you need to add the "caps" I made them from a garage sale sign cut into small squares then I cut a corner off:

20140713_004453_zpsf709a0aa.jpg

20140713_004618_zps0d83efd1.jpg

Wait for the glue to set then trim and finish boxing it in:

20140713_004618_zps0d83efd1.jpg

And then add details, and rivets to them, also add a bar to the top of the backpack for the arm pistons:

Sorry for blurry pictures, you can skip this step of modeling if you have extra power klaws laying around I ran out.

THE KLAW!:
To start I used some square stock laying around its about the size of a nob hand:

20140713_105756_zpsb29ea344.jpg

Next I made side panels for it, this is 030" card:

20140713_110247_zpsdf0ea597.jpg

20140713_110422_zps5218fdeb.jpg

To fill the gaps I used thin card, in this case the garage sale sign:

20140713_111701_zps22044ba3.jpg

Next was adding it to the arm this makes handing the model easier as you add parts. Also notice that I used a bit of tube to connect the arm to the klaw, also I added a small spacer of plasticard to the arm this will help when you add the arm to the model:

20140713_112019_zps74e76eef.jpg

20140713_112444_zps5523e774.jpg

I added some details to the klaw itself by adding more layers of plasticard:

20140713_115109_zps9eaec00d.jpg

To make the klaws themselves, I laminated two sheets of 030" and the cut it out:

20140713_120056_zps31a770d0.jpg

The lower Klaw is easy I used a nob Huge Choppa for parts:

20140713_121459_zpsda7de751.jpg

And glued it on:

20140713_122012_zpsb9635a2f.jpg

To add the top klaws I used a bunch of smaller bitz:

20140713_122732_zps60fdaa71.jpg

20140713_122737_zpsa78df4cf.jpg

Then add small pistons:

20140713_124642_zps433584fa.jpg

Right klaw is done, lets armor up the arm, I just eye balled the sizes, once again 030" card that I rolled to make the armor:

20140713_113449_zps988f6b4c.jpg

The important part is adding this raised bar to link the armored plates together:

20140713_114102_zps19123af0.jpg

At this point add details rivets and other stuff:

20140713_131357_zps6f70c5fb.jpg

20140713_131402_zps7a21779d.jpg

Attach the arm, it will look a weird at this point:

20140713_131535_zpsa78ed1b0.jpg

Then add pistons like those on the legs:

20140713_132939_zpsc8cde926.jpg

You'll need to wrap then piston top like the lower legs, now basically your done with the tutorial repeat this step again for the other arm, I'm doing double klaws on this guy.
