Hi guys. Im thinking of running a 40k campaign for me and my mates. I have a sizeable bfg fleet for orks and would like to use them as part of the campaign. Has anyone done this sort ofthing before, and if so could you give me some pointers. Thanks skar

the real question you need to ask (and the main contributing factor) would be what fleets do the potential other players have..? Provided they have fleets to represnt their own armies then you have a lot of potential for linking BFg and 40K... On the most basic level you can have some simplistic crossovers with the winner of the preceeding BFg game etting some benefit in the next 40k game ranging from Orbital Strikes, additional points, deployment benefits... On a grander scale you can link it in more detail but that is down to how yoyu play the 40K side... Other factors to consider are: - How is the narrative of the cmpaign going to develop? - How involved will the other players be? - What fleets are represented by the other players? - Will each player need to represent themselves in BFG or will there be a more general Faction vs Faction kind of set up? Other stuff may spring to mind but a lot of situations will come from how the campaign plays out... Mudd

I linked BFG with Orkfest a few years back. The BFG scenario was everyone vs the incomming Ork fleet. The Orks were trying to make assault landings and the Imperial fleet was in the way. The game was a cool concept but the only players who showed up for the BFG game which was scheduled a week before Orkfest were Ork players with Orky ships. We played most of the afternoon against the store managers immense Imperial fleet and ended with the Orks poised to take on the planet. I instituted a rule for the 40k mega battle that the forces of order could not use orbital bombardments during the game as their fleet never showed up, and the Orks got a free orbital bombardment just to add insult to injury. I'd do it again, keeping the BFG event on a different day helps, but it doesn't insure you will get many skumgrods to krump. Good luck with it. :cheers WAAAGH! da BFG tie ins

There will be 4 players playing the campaign. Orks(me) Chaos beakies Dark angles And finally 'umies. I am thinking of having a choas and order faction. Orks plus chaos vs imperial and Beakies. Factions i have ships available for are Orks(massive flee) chaos (smaller fleet but still big) Imperial( a couple of cruisers) Imperial(nothing). What i plan on doing is have the majoroty of the chaos faction will be ork ships, my thinking is that the chaos Beakies have managed to steer waaagh skarnir towards this planet with promise if Gunz/teef/loot in general, so while the imperial forces will deal mainly with the ork invasion choas will tend to there obviously sneaky business on the planet. I plan on giving the imperial side a few of the chaos ships as being an old imperial fleet, but the bulk of there force will be plantary defense and orbital defense platforms ect... this i can scratch build no problem. I want it to be mainly one sided at the start of the campaign, the imperial forces being out numbered is a given. but i want some element to the game that gives the imperial side purpose, like trying to get a ship or 2 to break out and get reinforcements. Something like that would effect the campaign in the long run, getting your ass handed to you safe in the knowledge of reinfocements coming to help would keep them playing the game.
