okay, so for my entry into the town competition, i am doing a drive-in movie theater. now, like any theater, i will have a popcorn maker. the design will be one of the old fashioned kind, like this:

Posted Image

but the dimensions will be bigger. now here's my quandry: to orkify or not to orkify? i think it would be pretty funny if the popcorn maker looked realistic, like the orks just took it and kept it as is. OR, i could make it orky, by adding spikes to the wheels, a small engine and exhaust to the side, shingled roof, grot in the popcorn, drilled out beakie helmets as buckets for popcorn, and probably some type of big lever to start it up:

i was just wondering what you guys think. so, any opinions?

I say Orkify it. Tons of rivets, some random armor plates, big tires, massive exhaust stacks, and probably a gun mounted on the top for good measure (never know when you will need a shoota). And remember - red wunz pop fasta!

Orkify it as well. I second all the mentioned, plus make sure the popper has a turbo charger and flamer inside...to pop the kernels.

I'd say, Orkify it a little. If you do too much, it'll end up looking like a battlewagon that got popcorn spilled on it. Unless that's what you're looking for, then, don't forget the Zzap gun. ;)

You have to orky it up. The orks always make improvements to Oomie things. Put a bike front end on it and you could use it for a crazy biker mob "popcorn cover save".

Yeah, the danger is that if you give it all sorts of orky add-ons, it will become unrecognizeable as a popcorn machine. I say keep it as simple and true to the original concept as possible, with maybe just a slight orky touch.

I would add arma platez, a smallish engine with twin exhausts, levas and gauges, but rather than a pintle-weapon, just a shoota strapped to the side, or in brackets.

I'm in the little camp as well. Don't want to lose site of what you're making after all. I do however love the idea of beakie helmet popcorn buckets. In fact I'd just make a small pile on a table next to the machine of various bucket like objects. Maybe a grot/ork with a bow tie and a red and white striped hat as the vendor.

Orkify it, but make it subtle. For example, keep the basic shape and colors as is. However, add a grot inside the popper, or a glph painted on the side. You want the basic shape and colors to allow the viewer to quickly identify what it is. The subtle ork mods will make it much more humorous then all out battlewagonning the thing.

I say orky wheels, small engine, and grot in the popcorn. A grot in the popcorn is practically mandatory, since those little buggers get everywhere. Not sure about the beakie helmets as popcorn buckets, but it's up to you.

well, it seems that i'm not good at making something to scale. the popcorn machine has come out a little bigger than i intended, and i probably wont make a smaller one. so how does an orky popcorn machine that was made to look like an 'umie popcorn machine sound? this particular one will have sloppily painted red and yellow lines, and just look overall like a childs attempt at a popcorn machine.
