Those are Awesome. Love the theme of the Army and beautiful paint job. Yes I agree those eyes are amazing. How did you do it?

I painted the eyes last, so as not to smudge them later. First I just painted the whole eyeball black. Second I painted a half-moon shape with Khorne red, and then a thinner line of Evil sun red over the upper part of that. Next I fixed errors with more black, shaping the red bit to look like an eye (cornea? the coloured bit of your eye?) and forming a shadow-line on the upper part of the eye. Then just add a white dot.

Basically it's simple, but in practise it's really fiddly, I have to hold my breath every time I touch the model with my brush, and I had to clean up mistakes with black and re-paint after nearly every stage, but it's worth it. Even I would not like to do this on every model.

I appreciate you sharing that with me. I am going to test it out with some of my character models. I think it would be harder to do on the Boyz type models. Thanks again. Excited to see more of your army too.

The tommy gun is from Maxmini and the grot-sized klaw on the New 'Ork fan is from Wargames Exclusive, an extra bit that came with a guard model.

The first grot tank got also painted:

I tried  a faster way of painting a vehicle with washes and drybrushing, looks ok I guess. The pics are overexposed, it looks darker in RL.

I like the grot with the tommy gun a lot.  The one with the power klaw (and I only feel comfortable griping about this because it's you, and you're operating orders of magnitude above most of us) not so much.  The pose is not so natural.  It's probably just me.

Grot tank - wonderful!  I forgot about grot tanks.  Maybe it's finally time for me to have a go at one!  The paint job you've given this one is one of my favourites in a long time.  The mismatched colours work very nicely.

Honestly, seeing your grot tanks makes me wish I had stuck with the red and blue color scheme I was doing for my orks when I first started and couldn't settle on a klan.

Garslag: Yeah, you're right about the klaw-grot, I just wanted to put that nice klaw somewhere quick. It might help if he was holding something in the klaw, like a beakie helmet, so he'd be showing off to others just how ded 'ard he is. I think I'll do that.

Btw, I forgot to mention that the tommy-gunners' knife-hand is from a Catchacan 'oomie, just painted to look like a gretchin's hand. It's just the right size.
