Last week I finally got around to start building my ork kill team. The idea is to make a full roster of ruffly 20 models, covering nearly all options for orks, so I can make different Battle Forged lists. The theme will be somewhat Bloodaxy (haven't really decided on a paint scheme yet), but everything is in WIP stage still.

First, the shootaz:

jMY3MKW.jpg

Nothing really special there, just some greenstuffed, rolled-up sleeves. They'll get some shoulder guards and other bitz when the gs has cured.

Sluggaz:

cm1wM9e.jpg

The big guy on the left is veteran specialist, he will not get the rolled-up sleeves so I can model some scars on him (and hide the nasty seam on his left shoulder). Two more sluggas will be needed for the full roster.

Loota Mek, comms specialist:

v9lcNE5.jpg

KMB form KMPistol, a head swap from the lootas box. He will be getting some sort of comms antenna array and some speaker thingy, so I cut off the mek pole.

Loota boy, heavy specialist:

td4qFt0.jpg

I wanted a different look for lootas, and these stormboy arms were perfect for that. The gatlings are from Maxmini. The power unit on his back (as not seen in the pics) is very WIP, and needs more think/werk.

Kommando, scout specialist:

MoxHqbF.jpg

I really wanted to make an ork sniper specialist, but I guess this is also kinda cool....Kromlech legs, Spellcrow torso&head, Maxmini knife, GW arms and gun bitz. The gun has a supressor and a sight. I will be sculpting a camo cloak from gs for him, you can see the black marker lines on his arms on where I think it should be - wish me luck, it will be the first.

Kommando, combat specialist:

RgUmhOz.jpg

Spellcrow arms, 'cause they're really martialartistic, Kcromlech backpack, GW rest. Oh yeah, Zinge revolver. The sword is from an ogre.

Lots to do still: a nob leader ( kombi-scorcha+big choppa), a couple of big shoota gunners, two burnas, another loota, somebody with a rokkit launcha and some gretchins.

As stikkbommas are now an actual weapon, I've been thinking of adding them on all models. The GW stikkbommas are really huge 'tho and look distracting on a model, so I'll try to make my own.

Loving the rolled up sleeves, must have a go at them myself.

Looking awesome so far, very blood axe!

I'm loving these guys, especially the Loota, I may have to nick that idea myself sometime (I should have some spare Stormboy arms somewhere...)

Thanks, guys!

I got sidetracked into making some opposing teams for these (guard and beakie, cuz I had the bitz), but some progress has been achieved.

A big shooter and ane more slugga:

nPI3qfq.jpg

I found a kommando big shoota arm in the bitz box, I wonder where the rest of him is...

The second big shooter:

KBOuBpj.jpg

niWI5aH.jpg

I'm not quite sure of the positioning, looks a bit unbalanced. The idea was that he's about to toss the stikkbomm in through a door and preparing to shoot anything that runs out. He'll be getting the ammo backpack with grot loader, will have to see what he looks like then.

And yeah, I should have known: tell one guy he doesn't have to wear the shirt and the others will start to take off theirs...

Sorry about the pic quality, didn't check the camera settings before taking the pics...

The second big shoota boy, looks better now with the backpack, I also turned his stikkbomm-arm a bit.

EtgXjy6.jpg

That's the first time I've actually used the "correct" head on the loader-grot.

Last slugga boy, Kromlech bionic arm:

mkFKVSZ.jpg

The shootaz and two sluggaz are ready to prime, just some mould lines yet to remove. I found a box of old stkkbomma-upgrades, metal arms and 'bomms, and decided to use those.

yHS7ueQ.jpg

U9TCOPJ.jpg

I need to get cracking, winter is coming and then I won't be able to spray primer outside.

Wow, loving those! The tweaks you've done add a lot of character. I think my favourite is the one with a Shoota on a shoulder sling, pointing out what to shoot at.

I made a burna, not much of a conversion, just a head swap from an oop metal burna:

jNBsEGm.jpg

A rokkit launcha -boy, demolition specialist, needs more exploding things still. The backpack is from Kromlech tank hunters.

uLVSwm2.jpg

The nob (finally), leader specialist wif big choppa and komb-scorcha. He has a lasgun for a lasersight, as Regimentul Bosspole suggested.

s20r8un.jpg

qrLbeRU.jpg

Still the gretchin to make, 3 maybe 4, and one more loota ( for a spare ), and this team will be done. There's that "commanders"-thing now though, an I do have that Grukk/Gitzog fella lazing around in pieces - and some interesting other bitz, too...

Progress.

A second loota, blasty dakka this time:

vbThBO1.jpg

Finally some gretchin, a mix from Mek gun crew and regulars and an ammo grot from nobz-box and one git from speed freeks thrown in for good measure:

HvjDqy0.jpg

These are still wip:s, detailing and gs werk still to do.

Have you done anymore to your demo guy? I'd imagine that his hips would look nice clad in tankbusta bomms. :yes

Dont know what it is about the blasty dakka loota but he seems like a ghost buster to me. Not one in particular it just has that feel. Like the backpack is a proton accelerator or something. Good stuff either way.

Good use of the grot from the buggie kit. Thats one thing they did get right w/ all of those. The crew sculpts are outstanding. Good to see you go a stand alone w/ this one. Theres a few others in there that would make really good stand alone figures.

Thanks, guys!

@Sir Sproston: Not much progress with the demo guy, just one tankbusta-bomb so far. I'm jumping from project to project, not really getting anything finished. I think I have aquired more GW stuff in the last six months than I did in the previous decade, and now I'm trying to do everything at the same time.

@Zagursnik: A ghostbuster, eh? I see what you mean, the gear and the positioning is there. I meant to build the speedfreeks as they were, just to play the game, but this little git was just too good to leave hanging on the back of the buggy. Then I did some head and arm swaps, too, but just for the bitz, I assure you.

@Big Mekboy Chumba: Thanks, though I can't take credit for that, it was suggested in regimental bosspole when orks took it over in orktober.

Haven't done much about these lately, but the rokkit launcha/denolition boy got some more blasty stuff:

I4wBnCY.jpg

I think that's about it for this guy, or maybe just something small, like a cherry-bomb belt for the grot...

Not two, but three tankbusta bomms! Proppa! :thumbs

Instead of a cherry-bomb, how about a spikey grenade like an old-timey looking one or a hand-held naval mine? That way even if doesn't off it still has the potential to hurt the target. :yes
