Just starting a post to put my wip's up, finally got through converting my shoota boyz. My army is going to be built up around blood axe and bad moon orks, I found working on such a small scale with plasticard tough but I'm reasonably happy with how these boyz eavy armour turned out, it was meant to take inspiration from Cadian flak armor. And the berets...well I just liked the name "Da red kaps" for my unit so they needed military style hats!

Edit: Pics in this expired so here is a new one.

Fantastic work so far! Very inspiring stuff. I recently ran out of armoured plates for my boys and have been trying to make them from plasticard.  Yours are really really good!

I'm impressed with the armour, I can imagine it was quite fiddly!

Thanks lads! Yeah it was quite fiddly and I've been working on them on and off longer than I care to admit (got disheartened a few times thinking I'd bit off more than I could chew!) I've got them under coated now though and have began painting! Just trying to do a little bit at a time and not stress about them!

Awesome! Nice idea and well executed. My favorite part is the kap on the boss pole, it's a really nice touch.

working slowly through my models lately, got a few of my shoota 'ard boys painted and a grot just to see how I wanted to apply my army colours. Did some more model work on my Warboss or Dakkaboss as I like to call him! Sculpted his right arm muscles with greenstuff and after finally deciding what the heck I was gonna do with his backpack (Went a Vulcan raven route from the MGS series) I built it and the bullets feeding in, once the arm is set properly I might try file a few bullets that are sticking out of line too much but not overly worried about the uniformity cause...orks! Anyway here is some pics.

So I scrapped the gun toting warboss and went back to thinking of a big mek as my main HQ. Very early WiP but I need opinions on if the head looks ok on the body scale wise. The legs are a pair of old metal ghaz legs I had left from my last big mek for an idea of the models size, cheers.

I think a bigger base would fit better 😉

Can I use a bigger base? Next size up would be 64mm I think? Don’t wanna be accused of KFF shenanigans! Also switched to a smaller head and decided it was better!

Smaller head, remake of my old one in profile pic, working on making a big wrench for his left hand which Ill be replacing with an ogre kingdom armoured fist because its a bit small.

And Barry the boy for scale.

Also picked up some metal Killa kans cheap on eBay with dodgy glue/paint jobs and some bits missing. Got a bag of random plastic kan parts for a few quid and went to work stripping and fixing them up. One more to go, its in its detol bath as we speak! The nifty rocket launchers came from puppetswar but all in all its been a fairly cheap investment for a decent little squad.

Of course you can. Most of us base our models on what they fit best. If 64 is too big try a 50s. Bases don't need to be from GW.

Cool I might have to order a 50mm base then!

This morning I managed to put together Chumba’s wrench (still wip) and replaced his left hand with a beefier one. I’ve also decided his right gauntlet will be his control gauntlet for his backpacks gadgets, so I added some cabling running from it to the base of his backpack and am thinking of green stuffing a little screen and buttons on the back of his gauntlet. Finally I added a big belt to tie in his backpack, probably gonna need another strap of sorts up top. Will need to make the belt a fancy buckle and mayby some pouches or something.

Finished off his wrench with some gubbins, green stuffed his neck in with a fairly pronounced backbone, some gubbins on backpack and made a little control pad on his right gauntlet. Oh and worked on the darth Vader chest box thing which will connect to his helmet. Its a little rough atm once the GS is dry Ill tidy it up =)

Nice bits bash :thumbs  about the only thing looking slightly off is the feet - if you've got a bit of girder to stick under the front of his left boot and bring the ground up a bit under the front of the right boot, it should look a bit more balanced :?
