These are awesome!  I wanted to do this army as well for a while.  Good to see someone is doing it and doing a damn good job as well.

Keep updating this I will be watching and wishing I had time to work on my own.  I will just have to live through you.

Yeah, the Venerable Morfangdakka. It has a certain feel to it.

I love the greenstuff work on your Magos. How long have you been sculpting?

I'm also curious what you'll be playing him as.

Actually, I don't really count that as sculpting. I barely know how to use any sculpting tools but a knife to cut pieces and and some kind of rolling pin to make flat pieces.

For the tubes, I use this great tool : http://www.greenstuf...re-machine.html

Almost every arm/weapon is magnetized, same with lower and upper half of the breachers and the castelans. That way I can combine them at will.

Hence I can use the tracks of the breachers for other purposes when I play the figures in an Ork army .

Here are a few examples of their uses :

Mek Guns

img_2017.jpg

Grot Tanks

img_2016.jpg

Killa Kans (combined with the upper half of castelans)

img_2013.jpg

The magos has its rear pair of arms magnetized as well, so I think I can play it as a big mek or a big boss despite a slightly larger base ( 50mm instead of 40mm ).

The castelan and the magos are about the same size as the official figures from GW. The breachers are bulkiers.

The upper half of the breachers are meganobz bodies, and I've bought some monowheels from Kromlech to play those as regular (mono-wheeled)-meganobz ( I don't have any pictures of those yet )

Now that, is genius!
A brilliant original concept, well executed, followed up by an inspirational, money saving idea. I love the modular magnetised nature of this, I will be looting it hard!

I had made a stamp to make  a kult mekanikus iconography but I wasn't happy with it anymore.

Here's the new version

Would love to know more detail about the parts used in the project, I'm seeing a mix of between a Killa Kanz kit, the AdMech sets they're mimicing but I'm sure there's more in there too!

Also, very jealous of that Magos!

The body of the castelan is mainly made out of a killa kans that I have shortened.

The head is made of a beakies rhino's cupola with the head of a bomma's bomb.

The arms and legs are from the killa kans kit combined with bitz from the deffdred and the official castelan kit.

Then some random bits : guns from battlewagon and bomma, legs joint is from the trukk...

I can make a tutorial if you want.

Here are a few updates ( a new Kastelan ) and examples of mixing and matching of the differents units parts.

Castelan body + castelan legs = Castelan bot (that was easy)

img_2015.jpg

Castelan body + tracks = Killa Kans
img_2019.jpg

Meganobz body + tracks = Cataphron Breachers
img_2018.jpg

Big guns + tracks = Mek Guns
img_2017.jpg

Meganobz body + kromlech mono-wheel = Meganobz

After almost a year of silence... and many distractions... I've just got back to work.

Here are a  "paint in progress" pic of my breachers, and a prototype of destroyer.
