Hey folks, first of all: please excuse my english, I'm not a native speaker.

This is my debut at The-Waaagh, a scratchbuild Battlefortress. Its my first scratchbuild model, so I'm pretty proud of it.
The constructing is done so far, but most of it isn't glued in place yet, to be able to paint in later.

If you are interested I can post pictures of the building process.

I hope you like it :)

This is a thing of beauty, a fantastic model, let alone scratch build!  Some great ideas here :)

This is amazing! Especially for your first scratchbuild :D

I would love to see some WIP shots!

Oh my goodness.  This thing is just beautiful!

I particularly like the panels covering the treads and wheels.  The damage on them looks positively inspiring; it's a sort of thing that I don't think we'll ever see on an official model.  The damage really makes it feel more orky.

how long did it take to build it?

the front part - most exposed to enemies - could use a few more scratches and dents maybe.  exspecially the cabin.

but ist is a marvellous thing you made here.

all the work with the greenstuff plates.

In the end, it was the Sunday afternoons he couldn't cope with, and that terrible listlessness which starts to set in at about 2:55, when you know that you've had all the baths you can usefully have that day, that however hard you stare at any given paragraph in the papers you will never actually read it, or use the revolutionary new pruning technique it describes, and that as you stare at the clock the hands will move relentlessly on to four o'clock, and you will enter the long dark teatime of the soul.

Thank you for the kind words :)

It took me two mounth to build this thing, working at least a little every day.

First I did a virtual model in CAD, working with measurements from the dimensions thread. When I had the outer dimensions I could measure the other dimensiond from a picture in true scale.

Furthermore my two new projects:
Painting my sweet little Grot Tanks
nli62sxc.jpg

Furthermore I got one of the Chinork Warkopta Kits from Forgeworld.
When I first saw the model it looked bad ugly. I belive the pictures on the Forgeworld webside don't tread it right, because the model looks odd when its without passengers. Combined with the Commandos Upgrade on the other hand, I realy like it. The cool thind about the Ork Models from Forgeworld is, that from the mechanical point of view, everything would work in real life. Shure, its crude and orky, but every gear, or joint has a porpuse.

Because I couldn't find many pictures of this model in detail, other than on Forgeword, I made some for you guys.
I realy like the kit, and it was easy to bild. Of course I had to straighten the chain and the rotorblades with hot water, but that wasn't complicated at all. The most fiddly part was to fit the passengers, with their big backpacks.
If you want some pictures of specific detail, just ask for it. I know there aren't many pictuers of this model out there.

The work on the Grot Tanks goes on:

Because I dont like the strong red tone on the older tanks anymore, I tried something new this time.

I finished the weathered metal look, and painted a layer of thinned red on top. While the Paint was still wet, I removed most of it with a brush. Its a bit tricky, because you easily leave brushstreakes that you want to avoid.

That way the red paintjob looks way more faded and old.

The first Grot Tank was a test, but the others will follow soon.

After this I will continue with oil colors, and try to go all out with rust pigments.
