It's that time again! Time for another WAAAGH! UK!
(Copy/Paste for the win!)
Just what is Waaagh! UK?
Waaagh! UK is an opportunity for members of the Waaagh forum from Britain and Europe (and anywhere else for that matter) to meet up in Warhammer World for two days of orkiness. Looking at pictures of models and reading people's tactics is all very well and good, but it doesn't quite compare to meeting them in the flesh and seeing their models first hand.
When and where?
Waaagh uk meet Mk1 21-22nd April
Mk2 20th and 21st of October
It will be held as always at warhammer world in Nottingham,20 Lenton Ln, Nottingham NG7 2NR, UK
What goes on?
The main event of the meets thus far has been the ork mega battle, which takes place on the first day of the meet (Saturday) due to WHW being open for longer. The battle has a "finished models only" policy, because big games are so much more awesome when everything's painted!
MEGA BATTLE IS ON SUNDAY!!!!!
The second day is much more relaxed - mega battles are awesome, but they can be quite tiring! Sunday is a great opportunity to chat to the other members, get a close look at that model you've always loved, play normal sized games against scumgrods and the like. There should be some fun mini games to play, too.
Previous meets have had mini killteam tournaments played, if you want to play a specialist game or have ideas for one feel free to throw your hat in the ring to get a game going.
There will be games of GorkaMorka played in the Sunday myself(skarnir) and Dim will be playing.
Around lunchtime on the Sunday will be the much coveted Golden Grot painting competition and Styrene Spanna conversion competition!
In recent meets this has fallen on the wayside, so it would be nice to get going again.
Who's organising?
No-one in particular. However, Dribble Joy, Dim Reaper and Skarnir usually act as if they run things. If you've questions then feel free to post them in the thread so others can add input.
Where can I stay?
Nottingham's a big city with plenty of accommodation; personally I can recommend the Castle Marina Premier Inn or the nearby Holiday Inn Nottingam, both of which aren't too far from Warhammer World. Anyone with details of other accommodation, get in touch (especially if you have a big house to crash at!).
Note: The Holiday Inn is a US chain and operates unlike the budget hotels like Travelodge and Premiere Inn. They will ask for a credit test when you check in so they know you can cover any small charges to your room. From memory this is £50, which is charged to a card and then reimbursed. Cash is not acceptable.
How much does it cost?
Nothing! That is; the event itself is completely free, although you will need to buy yourself food and pay for some accommodation over the weekend. You can also get forge world stuff from the warhammer world store, so if you're after that kind of thing then don't forget the money for it.
From personal experience you'll need about £20 - 30 a day for food/drink (depending on how much you eat/drink).
So what do I bring?
Yourself, your models, food/money for it and, if possible, a name badge. You're welcome to bring as much of your miniature collection as you'd like; you can only use painted stuff on the Saturday, how big the game will be will be discussed in this thread.
(I would remind players to bring dice,Tape Measure, rule book,( and any rules needed to field their army.
If you are in need of rules reference for the more exotic units feel free to contact myself Dim or Dj. cheers skarnir)

For Sunday things are a little looser, with the competitions, games run by others or general gaming. Again, keep an eye on this thread for what you might need.
I'm a minor, can I come?
Those under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. I don't mean dropped off by your parents and/or handed over to us, I mean there all day.
We've had problems in the past. It sounds harsh, but WE are not responsible for you.
Something else?
Have I missed something? Have you asked a question in the thread and I've not noticed?, if so PM me, Dim or Dribblejoy.
New this year?
In the past new people have worn name badges with their forum name and their real life name on them.
Other wise simply find the table which has been reserved by a waaagh member we'll ask the staff to put the UK waaagh on the card as well to make things easier
Alternatively, just look for a bunch of people standing around with an inordinate amount of ork models and being loud.
Gits wat is going
