Hello everyone.

 

First post on Da Waaagh in about 3 or 4 years as i had gotten myself out of the hobby.

but apparently in this new edition orks are pretty good, so the glory supporter that I am i'm back.

and back to my old tricks too. 

 

I Hate the Stock model for the Gork / Morkanaut. it looks so static and dull and just a bit to daft for my liking.

so i decided to loot myself one.

 

technically this is a stretch goal for my waaaghust painting threat, but i seem to have started the stretch goal before the actual threat... oops.

 

I picked up this little fella in some online trading

the images are not great as they are taken with just my camera phone.

 

but i would love to get some feedback before i prime him, if any of you other mad meks have any suggestions for improvements

Hear you on the GorMonaut, yer fish'ed thingy isn't looking too bad but are you expecting to use it as Transport 6?

see i was puzzling over that one, i wasn't quite sure how to get the transport capacity. which is what all those antenna  are for on the top.

the way i figure it, is that the boys arent actually in the looted riptide. they are in orbit, in a kroozer or similar.

 

when the time comes to launch an attack they are tely-ported down in front of the  morkanaut ready fer a fight

 

its the best solution i could come up with other than massively distorting the shape of the chest.

 

its why they disembark when the thing dies, because they don't wanna miss out on a fight so thy jump down anyway, and if there aint space they meterialise inside the wreckage, hence they are destroyed

 

although if im honest im unlikely to use the transport capacity, as 6 ork boys dont do much even if they are nobz or similar

Maybe give it a backpack for the transport capacity?

The transport is a real pain to work round - I saw a pic of a 'US M6 Grizzly Walker' (possibly for a game called Konflikt '47?) while I was looking for designs to rip off inspiration on Google Images. It looked promising but when I extended the hull down for the transport capacity it looked like a pregnant squig, and when I put a tubular transport pod between it's legs it looked like a porn-squig :bang  Semi-tempted to just strap a Police box to the front of it, or just go with a one-shot tellyporta :thumbs

i'm not to worried about making it look like there is transport capacity if i'm hones, the way i see it if my opponent objects to my 

current explanation / abstraction then I will:

A. point out that its a game of toy soldiers where my army consists of sentient fungus.

and 

B. probably not use the transport capacity anyway as my army does not contain any units smaller than 15 apart from my warboss, big meks and pain boys. all of which are better use outside the morkanaut

 

the plan for the guns is to gubinz up the jet packs mounted backwards on the shoulders.

the lower two outlets on each side  (highlighted in red) will become the twin shootas and the main ports together will become the kustom mega kannon

the rockets are already mounted on either side of the torso and the KMB is in the left arm behind the shield

I am curious to see how the finished product looks. I like most of what you have done, the head looks like something from Mars Attacks. I am speculating that paint will change the head's appearance. In any case, you will enrage the fish'eds with your orkification of a valuable resource. :yes Good work! :thumbs

 

P.S. Blast you Badfang! I'm inspired again! :scowl That M8 Grizzly Walker has given me another idea to add to my ever increasing list of ideas. >: I'll be beyond fortunate to live long enough to bring them all to fruition. :blush Especially with Mrs. Giganotosaurus running amok with her unending list of labors from "Honey-do Inc." :bang

 

P.P.S. That M8 Grizzly is a good design to ripoff Badfang. I await your orky interpretation. :yes

so im having some trouple figuring out a good design for some kustom mega kannon looking bitz to go on the ends of the inverted  jetpack.

any ideas folkz?

If I understand your vision correctly, the forward facing ports of the "jetpack" are to become kannon(s). :? I am also guessing that you are thinking a kannon that shoots shells, as opposed to some giant/twin linked zzapp gun. The zzapp gun approach would flow better with what you have done already. The lines of the riptide, along with the wires/cables that you have added would make it an easy project. You could take a pair of zzapp guns from the battlewagon, trim them to fit, and add more cables, or make your own zzapp gun with tubing and assorted gubbins. :thumbs I can also see using the indentation at the top rear of the jetpack to place a clip, or drum magazine with appropriate kannon muzzles at the front. Twin linked vulcan/gatling kannons would be cool. Twin, twin linked autokannons along the lines of a Macross Destroid Defender would be very easy as well. :yes

 

The waaaaghchit gunship is an inspired "kitbash" design. Send some pictures to GW, they need to put it into production. :yes Well done! :thumbs :thumbs

yeah the forward facing ports are going to become the morkanauts kustom mega kannon.

 

my general idea was that the head houses some sort of generator, salvaged from the original rip tide nova core, that generator feeds via the copper cables the two transformer coils on either side of the head which ramp up the power to a destructive level, that power is then channeled along the length of what was the jet pack to emerge as some sort of ionized plasma blast.

 

i think what i need to do is make a couple of tanks to sit on the back of each "kannon" that store the squig oil for ionizing, then fit some sort of  cover over that convenient cut out on the top to make an acceleration chamber of some sort, and then finally cobble together some sort of emitter.

its the emitter i'm having trouble with as i want something that says kustom mega but i dont want to use the stock kustom mega blasta/ kannon head. but i also dont want to look too much like a zaaap gun as one of those has a distinct look all of its own.

 

 

thank you for the compliments on the ArrrWaaaghchEet (the spelling changes each time i type it so dont worry :P) i just saw the galvanic servo hauler crane and decided i couldn't not turn that into a helecopter

Ahh, I understand the head's appearance now. :blush I just googled energy weapons, and saw something that might work for you; https://www.artstati...m/artwork/EYwVn ArtStation-Energy weapon concept, Artster A. It looks like this weapon could be built with scrap plastic & gubbins. Good luck!
