So I always used to run foot sloggas (be they shootas or slugga and choppas) in units of 20 as I have found 30 to be a bit too big of a unit, especially when it comes to moving around in terrain etc... I have always preferred to run 3 x units of 20 then 2 of 30....
This edition has got me wondering, I think it might be worth running units in 30... I was thinking about shoota boyz in particular, as 60 overwatch dice as opposed to 40 overwatch dice is a pretty big difference. So my question is, do you think foot sloggas will be better in units of 30?? |

27 shootas and 3 BS is always a good bet. With the 25% rally rule and overewatch those are slow moving death. The other thing to remember is if you flood the board they can't place thier flyers and have to fly off or risk a wreck.

Yeah, I'm thinking big mobs of shoota boyz are a decent option. Even if you're mostly mechanized, having two as nigh immovable objective claimers isn't a bad option.

You could always try 3 x 20 in a few games and see how they pan out? I've been a fan of 2 x 30 with 30 grouts since the start of 4th ed so I still see the value in it and i know how to use that core of my army.
