Lovely 'old skool' (i.e. artistic) painting. The squig mouth (I'm sure Orks paint squig mouths rather than shark mouths) on the nose is especially cool, and really suits the colour scheme. Really enjoying seeing this model painted up.
As far as the kit is concerned, I wish the supa-shootas were all the same size. Basically, they provide one pair of proper supa-shootas and the rest are just normal big shootas, which are noticeably weedier. -------------------- Oddballz

For those of you that haven't my previous work and have only read this thread the following pictures might come as a bit of a shock. For those of you that have seen my other Ork stuff like my battlewagon it might not be so surprising that I have managed to turn the bright yellow plane in an old rusty piece of scrap.
I like my Orks to look like the never really do any upkeep or maintenance on their vehicles. So why should a plane be any different then? I did loads of sponging and weathering with washes and the top of the plane is now nearly finished. I still need to do some details and paint on some oil leaks and stuff but The only thing that really needs to be done is the underside and tail. When those are done I will do the bombs and I have to think of what to do with the base. Any ideas are welcome... ![]() ![]()

Great paintjob.
I am looking to do a similar mouth for my second plane. The pilot in particular looks great! |

Zog me, it's bootiful. One of the best lines from Deff Skwadron. This is a really nice build & paint. I just got my own kit today and will likely be doing it in a similar configuration, albeit a different colour scheme. Very nice to see how you've brought all the pieces together and given it a nice cohesive look. I see you've also made good use of the awesome decal sheet that comes with the kit. Nobody's mentioned it before, but the decals in this kit are amongst the best that GW has produced... granted they do borrow from Forgeworld's Ork sheet. -------------------- ______Agatheron

I'll just join the others in slack-jawed admiration. This is a superb paint job - I'll be happy if I can achieve anything close to this.

A quick question on the canopies. Did you mask them off when you painted them or did you brush on imperial primer and then hand paint? I'm doing a bit of canopy work today and am looking for some different ideas beyond what I've already thought of.
Great work on this. Looking forward to seeing some underside shots. -------------------- ______Agatheron

Oh... I love it! This model looks so great in Bad Moon paint! It's really proppa! I like your weathering. The dots of rust and small areas of freshly exposed metal not yet corroded. I really like the grot turret you used. It's the best option in my opinion. Looks very good. Job's a gud 'un!

That's me done, it took me exactly two weeks to finish this model. For me that's a quick paintjob but because this model is so much fun and there aren't that many out there yet it was hard to put it down.
I'm very pleased with the fact that I have managed to magnetise it all so I can use this model as all three types of Ork planes. With a few small alterations you can change it from a Dakkajet to a Burna-Bommer. If you like what I have done I would like to ask you to follow THIS LINK to CMon and rate/vote for it there because I can use some nice ratings...I've never had more then an 8 on CMoN and with this model I think it's possible. Oh, and I did a base for it asw well but I didn't take a good picture of it. I do have it up on the CMoN link here above. If you don't want to click it you'll just have to take my word for it. ![]() ![]()

Absolutely superb paintob. I'll be looting lots of inspiration as I get back to painting mine this weekend.

Likewise. I hadn't realised until I pulled out my copy of Deff Skwadron that the squig teeth was right from the cover. Very nicely done... And I like the versatility that you've made with this particular kit.
I've only ever gotten above 8 once with a mini of mine... Curiously enough with Blue Thunda... And I can say that this is better painted than my original aircraft... Mine got boosted above 8 likely because of the whole scene. Hopefully this will push yours above the 8 mark.... Some voters are exceptionally harsh... -------------------- ______Agatheron
