I have just bumped the table which has bumped my (terrbily) painted warboss model of the table.
I need some ideas for a new one Can warbosses have two power klaws? can they have two attack squigs? I am just out for ideas |

I'm afraid that no, they only have one Choppa in the first place and get their Klaw by swapping their choppa for it. So only one Klaw.
Also only one Squig I believe too, the wording is similar to that of big guns units "may take any of the following", and Bosses only state "Attack Squig" whereas the guns unit states for example "up to three ammo runts". I know these kind of comparisons aren't always a good idea but i haven't seen any rules to suggest that a Warboss can take multiple ammo runts or attack squigs, which are really the only things on that list that you could take multiples of, though i'd like to see him try to take two bikes... As for ideas, while it's kind of heresy around here have you considered a Big Choppa instead of a Klaw, sure he's less effective in some ways but on the charge you can get 6, S8 attacks at initiative 5. It's different at least. I recently discovered that my Husky puppy likes warbikes (thankfully he didn't swallow anything), and that the remaining parts make for some interesting looking Mega Armour. Now on the topic of 2 x Klaws, i think there was a thread that addressed the idea of Big Meks doing just that (Mega Armour plus a Klaw), or alternatively having Mega Armour and a Burna. Hmm, maybe not a great help, anyone else for something interesting? |

Well although in a options sense you can't get the two PKs, but there's nothing stopping you from modelling it like that. I'd suggest taking a Warboss with either Mega Armour, or eavy armour, PK and twin-linked shoota, and couple either option with an attack squig. The Attack Squig can be modelled if you like, or just count it as the extra attack, and model a whole Marneus Calgar twin PK with a shoota under or on each Klaw.
Go with rule of cool. If you want any other pointers, I'd do a search. There's lots of cool Warbosses on this forum. -------------------- |

To be completely honest, who cares? Mine has a 'uge choppa and big shoota, bend the ruls as much as you like, so long as your enemy agrees to it...

i second the rule of cool, 2 pk's give +1 attack, attack squig gives +1 attack. pay the points, get the effect, have a cool model. i've got a rave-lord for my chaos with 2 powerfists & a jump pack, counting as having mark of khorne for the +1 attack.

Legally the only way you can get two pks on an ork is a big mek, give him mega armor and then replace his choppa with a PK. For the boss... if you want to model him with two clawz and multiple squigs... go for it, but mechanically you can't buy more then one.

I'm with shotgun, who cares.
As long as it is relatively wysiwyg ie, if he has guns then the model has guns somewhere, if he has a pk then a pk (or two) should be modelled. If it isn't strictly wyiswyg then you should probably clarify it with your opponent but that is hardly an issue. As long as it has the right weapons, regardless of number, I can't see any but the most anal opponent objecting. Just make sure he has a shoulder mounted or wrist mounted ranged weapon modelled on as well and you shouldn't have an issue. Btw a Warboss comes with 4 attacks and 2 pk's in light of that is hardly counter intuitive. |

For a long time one of my warbosses had a pair of powerklaws and a wrist mounted twin linked shoota. I just counted the additional power klaw as an attack squig.
Rule of cool is best applied in these cases I reckon. Yes I did link you to TvTropes... Proceed at you own peril (usually forgetting what the sky looks like) -------------------- "Natural progression I guess; Wartrakktor, Wartrukk, Battlewagon..." - Thoume on the evolution of Ork vehicles

I'm a big fan of modeling for awesome factor, WYSIWYG annoys the crap out of me.
I say build him how you like, and explain to your opponent if it becomes an issue thatyou did it for the sake of epicness. Tell him straight up what gear your WB has and he shouldn't have a problem. Some people will even let you bend the rulez if you want to try a WB with something different(Like 2 PKs) I know some guys who would be like 'oh yeah make your boss a massive pointsink! I don't mind at all' and then shoot the ever loving frack out of that poor boss. -------------------- Just cause wez a bit pinkish don't mean we ain't proppa!

I can't really give advice on what to give your boss points wise, but for modeling I'd say check out warmachine by Privateer Press. They have a huge rang of stuff, most of which looks orky enough enough by itself that all you need to add is some glyphs. Plenty of good choppas and shootas.
But what ever you do, don't forget to post it! -------------------- Oi! Just cause we ain't Green don't mean we ain't da boyz! We is gonna stomp an burn an chop an shoot anyfing we like! An if da rest of dem gits don't like it dey can just ZOG OFF! -- Warboss Gorskraga Skulstompa
