I am looking to march out all my mega armor in a tourney list and I wanted some input from the Deffwing enthusiasts on what is required and recommended for making such a list work.

Currenly I have the following:
10 classic MANZ
10 2nd edition MANZ
5 TermiMANZ
2 Mega bosses

So I figure I could probably take one super unit and three 5 MANZ units.

What else is needed? I was thinking of 20 boyz in a wagon or trukk boyz, maybe a KFF but is too much krumpa in wagons need fire support? Can I get by with only PKs and Deffrollas for anti tank?

I want to figure out what is needed for a theme unit VS a usable list.

Not sure I'm telling you anything you don't already know, but...

Yes, you can get by the Deffrollas and PKs in this list. Obviously the caveat is that you're going to have to close with him to kill him. That'll be tough against fast shooty armies with solid antitank like Dark Panzee, or against horde-y armies who can fill the board with shootiness or can bubble wrap their antitank with light vehicles like other Orks and 'Umies.

I've run something similar to this in 'Ardboyz. I stuck Mad Dok Grotsnik in there so I could get one Fearless unit of Meganobs and aimed him at the heart of the enemy army (to make baiting him tougher). I made another unit of Meganobs Troops so it did not suffer from MDG's Rage. I'm guessing your intent is to take two Bosses and make two units Meganobs into Troops, though.

If I did it again today I'd probably take a unit of Kommandos with Snikrot and stick MDG inwith them, so they can pop up behind and annihilate his fire support. I'd take a KFF Mek for my second HQ to cover the Battlewagons. Alas, I suspect that would vary from your theme. I can't imagine so many Megas in one place without a Warboss to lead them.

Not knowing your point values or HQ breakout, I'd say your army definitely needs more troops. With the Meganobs drawing so much attention, I'd be willing to use Trukk Mobs for my troops and trust the Meganob mobs to take the fire. You could hide the trukks behind the Battlewagon wall and drop 'em off on objectives as you go. I'd also get a cheap mob, perhaps even Grots, to park on your home objective. After all, all those Meganobs' Grot servants are gonna do something during the scrap, right?

My two teef,

As Gorhack said, this depends on what point level You play. Under 1500 You just can't have a lot of MANz AND army that works.

I would actually try to go with 2 Deffstars (10 guys with Boss, pick at least 4 kombi rockets) and 3 Boyz units (like 20 Sluggas with 2 rockets and Nob (Klaw, Bosspole)), all in BW. Then fill rest with cheap AT like lootas and buggies, with Grot scoring on top. Not sure about points (lazy) for that but I think it spin around 2k.

I would put some kombi-skorchas in there as well. A) I love Kombi-Skorchas and B) they will really help you thin out any horde of guys be it a guard power blob or a big unit of Boyz or gaunts.

And c) wound abuse.

Certainly. I just wanted to point out that additional rockets REALLY would help this list since SOME ranged at would be good. Oh and I picked my time to sum this up, it would be over 2k blushork2.gif.
There is list, slightly polished

Warboss, MA, Cybork, Bosspole 115
Warboss, MA, Cybork, Bosspole 115

8 MANz, 4 Rockets, 3 Flamers 355
8 MANz, 4 Rockets, 3 Flamers 355
Battlewagon, Deffrolla, Grots, 2 BS 125
Battlewagon, Deffrolla, Grots, 2 BS 125
10 Boyz, RL, Nob, Klaw, Bosspole 110
10 Boyz, RL, Nob, Klaw, Bosspole 110
10 Boyz, RL, Nob, Klaw, Bosspole 110
Trukk, Ram, RL 45
Trukk, Ram, RL 45
Trukk, Ram, RL 45
Grots 40
1695

Now add Buggies (they can act as cover for vehicless and add rocket shots) and Lootas as You see fit.

To be quite honest I never saw Deff Rolla as good weapon. No AP (gladly it isn't AP-), random hits (it really should be 2d6. Or at least "2d6, pick highest"), AV12 side armor... I would gladly skip them since Your Nobz probably would handle all necessary beating anyway and are (more or less pphhtork.gif) impervious to Meltaguns.

I am prepping for NOVA 2012, I am playing in the 40k GT and the 40k Narrative (which is a more fluffy campaign)

I was trying to figure out if I could take a viable 2000 point MANZ heavy army to the Narrative or the GT or both! I mean, Orks only get to invade washington DC once!

It sounds like at least one unit of Kommandos would be useful, but I was trying to avoid special characters but I am thinking in a BW bash with MANZ, a KFF is still needed.

For 2k I can roughly take:

Megaboss
KFFmek
8 MANZ in a battlewagon
5 MANZ in a Trukk
5 MANZ in a Trukk
5 MANZ in a Trukk
20 'ard boyz in a BW
12 Boyz in a Trukk

So that gives me 3 troops, and a lot of driving smashy but almost no shooty.

My options as I see it are:
*Drop KFFMEK for second megaboss for more troopMANZ
*Turn the two of the MANZtrukks into a large MANwagon unit
*Find a way to squeeze a grottroop in somewhere
*Try to add a kommando unit with Snikrot
*Figure out how to make it a 4BW list with no trukks at all, just 3 MANZ and 1 'ard boyz

so also 2000 points:
Megaboss
Megaboss
9 MANZ in BW
9 MANZ in BW
5 MANZ in BW
20 'ard boyz in BW
10 Grots

So that gives 4 troops and assumes everything will be piles of rushing, ramming smashing and assaulting and very little dakka and very exposed to longrange people who avoid assault. But who knows? It might work? I feel like it would kill a lot but lose on the missions like objectives and such.

I... don't like this list too much for some reason. Not much bodies. No shooting (40k is about shooting, at least in AT matter)

I guess You could pick my list, delete 1 trukker unit for upgrading other Trukks into BW... maybe pick KFF instead of MABoss (You probably should have 1 free Elite)

I have had good results with trukk boyz, which is why I thought MANZ in trukks might work as long as there was some KFF action.

I like the more trukk boyz too.

I can actually do the following:
Megaboss
Megaboss
8 MANZ in BW
8 MANZ in BW
5 MANZ in TRUKK
12 Boyz in TRUKK
12 Boyz in TRUKK
19 Grots

which leaves 200 points for:
*Rokkit Buggies
*Rokkit Koptaz
*Lootas
*Kommandos
*Big Gunz
*Boomwagons

How many Rockets are there?
You REALLY need shooting AT and it would be more efficient to actually buy AT weapons on existing squads than new AT units (of course You should get some new things too).

Boyz allow that, MANz even more.
