the biggest bonus seems to be building rivets without having to use plasticard tubing, and the naturally irregular shape of the clip-y thing. All the cutting and fitting seems to take from it though. What it would also be useful for is a shield for heavy burnas, autocannons and the like (much like the 'umie autocannon shields you see for heavy weapons teams).

Yeah I thought that about the burner shield too.

Anyway, you can push the rivets through on plasticard too.

Do we even still have these in the UK? Seems a long while since I saw any.

we found most of ours in the fresh fruit section of the grocery store. there was little pots there with bunches of them and my fiancee just grabbed me like 20 lol
I thought that this was a great Idea for any thrifty gamer who likes to find deals and save money.
Also thanks to
Dablackgobbo
for teaching me that rivet making trick.
Be careful if you do this though because the smaller the bit the easier it pushes right through the plastic.
You have to have a soft touch here. Also a little larger bit like the one i was using tends to not break through. If you do puch through though that can just be a spot where a rivet fell out or just stick a piece of thin plastic wire in there and cut it off to rivet size.

If I am allowed to suggest it please check out my youtube page for some other painting demos and videos
thanks

I never seen anyone else control the paint on the brush using their other hand, I thought I was the only one.

I enjoyed the painting tutorial but that seemed like a lot of work for such a tiny piece. For all the prep-work there not all that big of a pay off.

As for not pushing the drill bit through, if you're dead set on using these, try using a ball point pen or something else equally blunt and then just push into the plastic w/o going through it. One small thump from something should do the trick.

ya a buddy at GW was bugging me about me hand palette too lol. we are a special breed eh.
@Zagursnik i am gonn have to try that rivet hammer idea, I wonder about control though and how easy it would be to punch through the plastic.

I know this isnt a ground breaking life changing Idea, but i bet some people will think twice about throwing away the bread or milk bag clip and we may see a few of these pop up on peoples workspaces lol
Anyhow I had fun with it.
Thanks for the comments,.

you could give some thing like this a try. I have on that does a good job on Pcard but as you say, those clips are a tad thinner.
center punch
