I've just read through the thread and realised I've been namechecked several times! The Green (bloo) Tide formation referred to in both posts was mine! I remember the 2009 battle that I played alongside Grishgub, and it was brilliant, despite barely seeing combat! The 2010 battle I turned up with too many foot troops to use myself and dolled out a few units up and down the battle line. Cookie ended up with the Green Tide with Big Mek with KFF, but didn't realise that the rules state that the KFF cover the entire unit regardless of size, and only remembered the bit about units within 6", hence the rather tight formation on that occasion. If I remember correctly what then happened is that the mob assaulted the half built Gargant. Then the Mek left the unit and requisitioned the grabber claw on the massive crane and dropped a tank on his former companions. That will teach them to crowd him unecessarilly!
I won't be making it along again this year, just too busy doing the young family thing and can't spare a whole weekend away currently. Orks are not getting the attention to have completed anything much new and spangly (although there's a second unit of 30 Skarboys being painted, and a unit of Skarboy Bikers and Skarboy Trukkers being built) Maybe next year guys, maybe next year! -------------------- ...Hi, my name's Dave and I'm an Orkaholic...

Much to my chagrin, I will not be attending this meet. It seems that playing 40k with you lot isn't reason enough to skip my girl friends birthday. It has also been brought to my attention that I need a new laptop, and flying to england costs money, even on ryan air (Soul shudder). Maybe next year...

Though I think it's more up to Eddie, I think the Ork village would be best. While the gargant is awesome, even on a 6 foot wide board it kinda splits the table up. Last year is was more or less one end of the table and the other fighting separate battles more than it would have been normally.
The various pieces are fine though. -------------------- |

BAD NOOz
It seems that the Hellsreach bridge board was already booked we came second and we have to move. We've now got a board comprising totally of Realm of Battle boards, all interlinked, with trees and vallies and stuff. Not what I intended, but you take what you can get, paint it bloo and flog it to a Goff. Rules will be revamped slightly, and I think orky buildings will need to come out, but otherwise it looks like a straight forward fight across a big table I can ask about other tables this weekend if you want, but I'm not fighting on the Cathedral or in the city, they just suck -------------------- the voices in my head sound better as a choir

throw me up agaisnt anybody but DJ, theres not much that can match da krawla LIES. You killed it good last year (well... over several turns while I pounded teefords....). I will be bringing: Da Krawla. Nuggruz (DeffWing SC from BM codex) and a band of over-equipped BM meganobs. Kill Bursta. Klunk Wurmek (Big Mek SC from BM codex) with a few meganobs. Battlewagon. Edit: Regarding new board/rules, how about what we had intended for the Hellsreach one but rather than the road/river join up, we have the village in the centre. This would bottleneck everyone in the final stages which would result in a massive brawl in the centre of the table. We could use trees and other terrain pieces to simulate the river and 'split' the board. -------------------- |

Bringing the Deathskulls with Keg at the head of the charge, finally got him built, accompanied by a new big mek as well as big mek Krank.
Still working on the rest... And I hate everyone, so all is good. But in mind with every year Ive been to DJ seems to always be on the other side of the table so I think Im fated to hate Bad Moons too... Or just him. Keg -------------------- Avatar by KrOOzA |

Hi,
I am bringing my motorised Death skulls + a few Blood Axes using the Klanz codekses. I will be using my Kommando Kopta with Snikrot but I still think that my basic version of the rules and points for the K-Kopta is better than the version later included in the Blood Axe codeks. Probably use a Stompa with lifta Droppa. (have we decided which version of the rules we are using for Lifta droppas???) I will also have another vehicle if I get it finished. regards Pete |

I'm bringing Rebel Grots, and potentially a few other things. Depends what gets made, really.
I'm not even sure what Codex/es I'm using. -------------------- |

though pete, you know you said to me to make that battlewagon i won last year fly, ummm
the model I brought is too big in scale, the wings are bigger then the battlewagon itself, so i'm just orkifing the bomber. as for the battle wagon i'm probably gonna model it into a goff battle wagon with assualt ramps, depends how much free time I have to work on it in the coming weeks. -------------------- standard deffwing tactic: rush fast and hit like a runaway freight train with a rocket booster on the last carriage...

fine, quess i'll be making that bomber into a blasta bomba then. I think some flakkgunz are in order then.... I'd say go for the IA:8 Lifta-droppa rules. Missing kinda sucks, especially given the fragility of units in Apoc. and the fact that we might not get many turns. Better if people get to use them. That said I'm not sure about the over-load option, it could vaporise huge numbers of models, especially later on in the game and using it in the first turn would be a bit mean - like when I could have killed off the Iron Squiggoth in one turn, but would have simply meant it was placed on the table, I roll some dice and then it's taken off (so I shot Keg's Stompa instead and I think we all know what happened next....). Here's an idea though, to stop too much carnage early on: Night fight on turn one? -------------------- |

Failing any major inconveniences, I should make it for the Saturday megabattle, and will be bringing my snakebites with Nipper and a Stompa. Not sure if I'll use the snakebite rules or just codex yet. I'll probably bring Zogwort as well.
I don't have any particular rivalries, although Nipper finds munching on rebel grots does leave him a bit peckish afterwards. -------------------- |

Unfortunately it seems a major inconvenience (i.e. I am too poor) has cropped up and I will have to give it a miss. Sorry.

Aww man, that sucks. Was lookin' forward to Nipper stompin' his way across the battlefield! Oh well, that thing called real life is more important to sort out. Still there's time, maybe you get some luck before the 24th? At any road, take care of yourself. I know how sucky such situations can be, and I'm just lucky I was able to save up for the meet since last October.
And I'm not kidding, I have been. Incidentally guys, I'm bringing a new digi-cam with me, which is also a camcorder. So there will be lots of pictures, and potentially some with movey bitz. -------------------- |
