Alright, I am back again.
This time with a custom grot vehicle. It is roughly modeled on the gw version of the vehicle. I did however make it bigger. The original is just way to small, imo, to be used with all the new bigger vehicles roving the desert. So, here is the start. I will work on it more tonight and in the morning. ![]() ![]() I decided that I didn't like the rear axle at the very back so I moved it to the underside and put it on a couple trukk spring taken from the new trukk kit. ![]() ![]() Any C&C is welcomed. -------------------- Chaos

That's looking really nice starting out. I like the Deffkopta rotor as a fan, but is the fan blowing towards the vehicle or away from it?

This is going to be one of those madly detailed projects that makes me feel inadequate, isn't it?

Alright, I worked a little more last night and for a little while this morning on the Big Lugga.
Not much progress really, although I did finish the "motor". @Boss Gobbstompa - I think the blade looks wonky either way I put it on but I did turn it around because it looks less backward this way. ![]() Then I started on the upper deck area of the Lugga. ![]() @Lord_Blackfang - I don't know about "madly detailed" BUT I did order a whole bunch of .8mm rivets and simulated nuts and bolts to use on this thing. As far as the feeling inadequate part, "thats what she said" came to mind for some reason. Thanks for the comments guys, keep them coming it makes me want to finish these things. Thanks for looking. -------------------- Chaos

Well, I pretty much did nothing except work on this thing today.
I didn't like the smaller wheels on the front so I switched them out for another set of large wheels. ![]() ![]() ![]() Started on the Splattapult, hopefully I will finish that tomorrow. I also want to make twin-linked shootas just in case I want to use those instead. The boarding planks are magnetized so I can remove them until/if I ever get those as upgrades. I also started on a wrecking ball but am running out of room to place it on the vehicle. Might get placed on the upper deck with the driver. Let me know what you think. -------------------- Chaos

Wow, it's really coming together nicely. Would you be interested in writing a short article about the construction process when it's finished?

Agreed. This is becoming nothing short of awesome. There are a couple of players in the group I'm starting that are thinking about Rebel Grotz and, while they're not experienced with plasticard, I'm sure they'd love to see this thing.

Hello,
Thanks for all the comments guys. My camera died, not sure whats wrong with it and my phone doesn't take good enough pics for this kind of thing. I will get a camera from somewhere today and add pics of what I finished late last night and early this morning. I finished the Splattapult and mounted it on a magnetized platform, just in case I don't buy it for some reason. Started on the Twin-Linked Shootas and I am still trying to figure out where to mount the Wrecking Ball. My .8mm rivets, nuts and bolts arrived yesterday in the mail, WOW ARE THEY TINY!!! They are just about the right size though, I started detailing the Splattapult and its platform with them and discovered that I really need smaller tweezers. Then disaster struck and i dropped my pin-vise with my new .5mm tap in it and snapped the end right off. $@#^%*&@^#^@%!!!!! So, detailing is put on hold for a day or two while I order another one of those... @Flamekebab - Wow, I am flattered by the request, thanks. I am not sure what you would want in the article though? I usually do fairly simple techniques because I am new to this whole plasticard thing. I really just start glueing things together until I get roughly what I want and call it good. Let me know though and I will see what I can do. I am thinking about making another...and some cuttas as well. @Boss Gobbstompa - Thanks for the compliments! I honestly have very little experience with plasticard, other than the rough patchwork here and there. I have wasted alot of material making this thing because of that. I am finding that just like anything though, measuring twice is a very good idea.... I know its not much to comment on until I get pics up but keep them coming. Thanks for watching me make a mess!!! -------------------- Chaos

I was thinking something about what your initial plan was when building it. The materials used (and what else you'd use if you could get it) and techniques. How you painted it (assuming you're planning on painting it). Really just a medium length piece about building your own big lugga, something like this topic. There's not much out there about building big luggas, so whatever you can contribute is good! -------------------- |

To give you an idea on what to write about, check out my article on tUGS about putting together a biker mob. Most of it is simply the thought process that helped shape the project from beginning to end.

a while back a few people made ork humvee's one even supplied a template so you could make one easily for urself http://www.the-waaagh.com/forums/?showtopic=38912
i would love to see a template for a bug lugga, my friend was going to get a rebel grot gang but i think having to scrach build it put him off, having a blue print may have made all the diffrence, and when making stuff out of plasticard 90% of the time taken is measuring things, so having it all written down would save a huge ammount of time |

I don't browse the rest of the Waaagh so I miss out. Any other awesome versions of Ork trukks using the standard kit as a base? I would love to see a template for a big lugga, my friend was going to get a rebel grot gang but i think having to scrach build it put him off, having a blue print may have made all the diffrence, and when making stuff out of plasticard 90% of the time taken is measuring things, so having it all written down would save a huge amount of time At least a basic "how to make a Big Lugga" tutorial would be helpful. When I made mine it ended up exceedingly large. -------------------- |

WOW, orkimus prime is just too epic for words to describe so they won't try...
Personally I would really like some sort of template and/or tutorial for making big luggers because I've been thinking about starting up a rebel grot mob of my own but don't really know how to go about making their vehicles so any help would be greatly appreciated. -------------------- (\__/)

Hey guys,
Thanks for all the comments, I can't wait to see this project finished as well! I am STILL waiting on the drill bits I ordered to arrive so that I can rivet the heck out of this thing! The rivets are pretty much the only thing that needs to be done for me to call this finished. I will hold off posting pics though, just to keep you in suspense... Thanks for all the comments, keep them coming please. -------------------- Chaos

Hey all,
Well, the drill bits that I ordered over a month ago off ebay have still not arrived... So, I scoured the local hobby shops and finally found one for more than what I paid on ebay for twenty! I will have some kind of update for you in the next few days as I have also had my camera repaired, just a loose wire on a board or something. Thanks for watching and being patient, I should put up picks of the finished digga buggy. Thanks guys, -------------------- Chaos
