I play an army of Lootaz, and as such, have done a lot of kunvershinz on stuff. This right here is my looted trukk. As you can see, it was based off of a Hydralisk. Not too easy to get ahold of, in the 40k universe! Once I get hold of a camera, I will upload the rest of my looted goods

They ride the tail! I was gonna put one or two on it, but I felt like that would detract from it

i wouldn't really call this a conversion. What did you do? slap some misshapen greenstuff into an almost saddle & call it good? The painting looks OK but I say it's an overall LOE (Lack of Effort)!
If you really want to make a worth while nid conversion you should check out the Oilaz Bloo Printz in the Mek's garage for carnifex conversions. there have been quite few very convincing ones done recently. If this is supposed to be a truk you should also check out some of the Squigoth conversions as well. Hope you find some thing inspiring & give it another go -------------------- "I guess...Grot...you just gotta hold that ol' snazzgun in your hand and it all comes clear to you like it was for me that first time. There's no need to be so damn harsh. BTMB didnt do anything to deserve such poor treatment. I think it needs some more orky bits to truly make it look looted. A muzzle on its mouth and restraining the scything talon would also make it look like it was tamed, otherwise it would still pose a threat to your mob. A platform attached to the back of the model could also resolve the issue with how it transports boyz. You should also look into some washes. It will be a quick way for you to add a little more depth to the colors of your models. -------------------- here's why my orks are blue. they have an intense hatred of historical recording of any kind which results in none of them knowing why they're blue. because of this, anytime anyone questions the origin of their skintone they waste no time adding the inquirer's head to their bosspole. no one will ever know why these orks are blue, as merely asking about it is a death wish. in the end there will be only 3 types of people left, the blue orks, those who don't want to know the history of the blue skin, and the dead.

Maybe it has hidden rokkit boostas that make it fly in the air. Reminds me of some anime I watched.
I love the idea of boyz riding on the back of a Trygon. I look forward to other ideas. -------------------- DAKKA! DAKKA! DAKKA! DAKKA! DAKKA! DAKKA! DAKKA! DAKKA! DAKKA! DAKKA! DAKKA! DAKKA! DAKKA! Thanks for the feedback. I'll be the first to admit that I'm not a very skilled artist or sculptor. I will probably add a mesh net on the back, or something along those lines. Regarding the Greenstuff on it, remember that it is supposed to be a Hydralisk, not a Trygon.

Hope you find some thing inspiring & give it another go Welcome BTMB, please don't think we're elitist. Yes, there are some beautifully converted looted tyranids. If you look in the mek's garage there is a pinned thread called the Oilaz Blooprintz and it has what you're looking for. Your conversion is a lot of fun and if you keep at it obviously the quality of sculpts and painting will improve. If you're up for it.. the greenstuff can be carved into sharper shapes.. in some instances I actually prefer to do that rather than trying to get the uncured greenstuff to form rigid lines (a daunting task) Zagursnick: Poor showing.. that was his first post to the waaagh.. Your feedback was a serious LOE. -------------------- CODE Originally Posted by Uthan the Perverse in 'Culture vs. Kultur: Thoughts on Orkish Society' The Orks are the pinnacle of creation. Thanks for the advice. I would not have thought to carve the greenstuff out. What tools would you recommend using?

I use my hobby knife and files to carve putty. On harder epoxies, i sometimes use a dremel.

Thanks for the advice. I would not have thought to carve the greenstuff out. What tools would you recommend using? Welcome to the WAAAGH..looters are always welcome. Hobby knives or sculpting tools work good within the first couple of hours. You can also "reactivate" greenstuff with a little water on the tools, if its not too hard. The best way to learn sculpting with greenstuff, aside from picking up the odd bit of advice here and ther, is to sculpt...alot. practice, practice, practie. Don't be afraid to make a mess or mistake, as long as you learn from it. I like the idea and its a good start. the Trygon looks like a nasty bugger. I'd suggest some worky gubbins or some sort of mind control/bioniks thing to show how they might actually control the beastie...otherwise, there's going to be alot of blood and ork parts a flyin' But, like the guys said, check out the Oilas blueprints. Good stuff there -------------------- FUNGWIZER: Da Boss uv Beerz

There are controlly bitz, actually. If you look closely, the Ork is using a control box which has wires running into the side of the Trygon/Hydralisk's head

Welcome to da Waaagh!, BTMB. Another simple thing you could possibly do is add some metal plates to the chitin armour or the scything talons, just a small number. Get some plasticard and glue it on, and add a rivet in each corner.

Hi BTBM and welcome to the Waaagh!
Very nice work! It is clear that you are a real Looter, as i see a Nid, tin'ead, fish'ead and dark panzee(?) parts in your collections. If i may guess, you probably like to collect stuff with a good laugh. That's very good as it expands the boundaries and variety of the game, though might not exactly fall well taste wise with mainstream warbosses Agree more bitz would improve it to the next level though! You can check out the search function and specifically, try looted carnifex and looted tin'ead. I remember a few other Waaaghers have looted them, what with saddles, mind controlling devices, and armour plates and all. If you are keen to add to your models with more bits, feel free to start a post in the Meks Garage. Dat's where all the Big Meks kitbash their stuff! (Dey give lotsa konstruktive komments too) Once complete, you can plonk em in da Trophy rack again! |

The tank on the right is awesome! I know that sounds sarcastic, but Im not being. Its a box tank done with amazing audacity, I think you manage to pull it off. Its really nicely finished.
