Hello, I've recently become interested in Necromunda, so I dug out my bits box and started converting.

I'd probably play these guys as Orlocks. Any tips? They're also still somewhat WIP.

Also, would you guys recommend arming my leader with a more powerful gun? I like the idea of an extra attack in CC, but giving him a Special weapon is tempting. And I can't have both, so...

Leader - Laspistol (atm), Chainsword.

Ganger - Lasgun, Knife

Ganger - Shotgun, Knife

Shotgun Conversion

Heavy - Heavy Stubber, Lasgun, Knife

More gangers to come but I'm low on bits.

Uh oh, you better hide before Dim sees this. laughingOrk.gif winkingOrk.gif

Your gangers look good, I especially like tha scarf on your leaders neck, but I think you should remove any guard influences- for example, any aquilas and those sergeant markings in your leader's sleeve.

I filed off all of the eagles, but you're right, maybe the rankings on the sleeve should go too. I'm planning on sculpting more little things to make them stand out from just being guard kitbashes (like the scarf), but I haven't thought of anything yet.

Decide how you want to get maximum Experience for your leader. If you want him to be H2h, he's well equipped. If you want him to have a two-handed weapon and be a shooter, give him something that makes an impression, like a meltagun.

I don't have any problem with Planetary Defence Forces (PDF) deserters using Orlock rules. So, the insignia would not bother me. How you model Juves might be a problem, though. You can do without Juves, but they are very useful.

UPDATE!
So here's something a little crazy I started today: Heavy with flamer, lasgun, knife

yes, it was originally the gunner from an Ork Wartrakk.

I replaced the boots with Cadian boots, to make him shorter. Then I cut off the head and carved away to make it look like his bare chest and jacket.

Still needs some work, obviously.

I've been a lot less sniffy of plastic umie gangs since access to the old necromunda models has drastically reduced. Put the words 'Escher Heavy Plasma Gun' on ebay and check the bidding prices those things go for.

These are a good start, very characterful.

On the Gang Leader, I tend to have two gang leader models made up that sometimes I even use in the same campaign (obviously one replaces the other at some point) one being more shooting based and the other more combat based. Generally I advocate that a leader should have a good gun of some description, but leaders are a monster in combat with a sword, so its six and two threes really.

Hey there, update time! My bits arrived in the mail, and while my landlord hasn't returned our mail key, I discovered that my garage door key from my parent's house opens my mailbox at my apartment. Hooray for quality locks.

I'm really liking the look of the cadian arms on the catachan torsos, turning the vests into jackets. I'll probably paint them brown (for leather) and the shoulderpads black.

C&C greatly appreciated! I need more sculpting ideas to make these guys more unique.

Ganger w/Lasgun and knife.
My favourite of all the new ones.

Ganger w/lasgun and knife
I'm not sure I like how this guy's turned out so far. There's something funny with the proportions, and I have no idea why...

Ganger w/ bolter, knife, bionic arm
I don't know if I'll use this guy in this particular gang, but I like how the model turned out.

I think I'm going to take Dim's advice and make a second leader with a good gun.
