You said you do not like to paint..... I wonder what you can if you liked painting!!!! biggrin2.gif

The tank destroyer is ace. I love the blac-white camo, it reminds me of second world war ship camoflage. When they covered ships in white and black to avoid targeting by u-boots.

Lovely weathering too.

Amazed, just amazed. thumbs.gif

Wow, amazing, I like the idea of a tank without tower, looks really great, and because of the flat it looks fast also... thumbs.gif

I like also the paint job, good work.

Cheers for the comments.

Fantastic conversion work. The paint job on the tank destroyer is luvverly smilingOrk.gif

Keep trying out those new paint techniques! You can always strip and start over. winkingOrk.gif Orky vehicles usually paint up pretty fast.

The plasticard work and attention to detail in this thread is inspirational...

The color on that zebra striped tank is frigging sweet! your work with the plasticard is amazing but the one thing that pet peeves me is the thin barrels, I tend to try and thicken out the barrels as it gives it more beef. Otherwise this is all amazing stuff!

Wow, I can't believe it has been so long since I posted in this thread.

Firstly apologies to not responding to the previous comments made oh-so-long ago, I would never normally miss replying to comments. As such here is the somewhat delayed reply:

grimgor: I distressed the edges of all the styrene by simpy attacking it with a knife, nicks and chunks were taken out. It is very time consuming unfortunately.

omgitsduane: You aren't the only one to say that to be honest. I am happy with the look but I understand where people are coming from. Ironically in the pictures below you will see I doubled the thickness of the barrels.

Cheers for the comments everyone else.

I actually have some more Looted Wagons to show. I did an article for Bell of Lost Souls ( Part 1 - Part Two - Part 3 yet to go up ) regarding lootin' tanks and for them I made three Looted Wagons from three old Leman Russ tanks I had knocking around.

They aren't done in my usual style, but instead in a style I use when I Loot tanks for other people with the objective that they will look ok side by side with their other GW made Ork vehicles. As such I use GW weapons, glyphs and other pieces and I do not distress the panels anywhere near as much.

As the objective was really to show techniques I use and the way I do a conversion the tanks aren't the best you will ever see, there was more I would of normally of done but I didn't really have the time or inclination to spend all the hours I would normally working on each tank.

Enough words, time for pictures.

Wagon 1:

(More/larger pics on my Blog Here)

Wagon 2:

(Ditto)

Wagon 3:

(Ditto)

These will be on eBay just after Xmas (no place for them in my own army) so I thought i'd get pictures up while I still have them.

If you have chance please do have a read of the article on BoLS as I would be eager to hear the thoughts of fellow Ork Meks.

Cheers.

Wow, what a great thread. Your conversions are great, your crazy paint jobs totally work and its just an awesome job all round!

Your plasticard skills are such that I have to ask: Why even bother with the GW bits at all? Why not just scratch build the whole thing?

These tanks look awesome. You're doing a wonderful job wit them. It made me check if there are any old 'oomie tanks available online smilingOrk.gif. Might scrap 'em and make some looted wagon for myself. Too bad I'm stuck with painting my footsloggers. I swore that I won't buy anything new for my army (save an army bag) until I finish painting all the stuff I got on the block right now. But looted wagons are something I've been really thinking about.

Oh, and I really like the 'camo' pattern on the previous tank hunter. Man I'm so replicating this on my tanks in the future, but with yellow instead of white. I think it might look awesome as well!

Cheers for the comments.

ramshackle_curtis: Well while I could build the GW parts from scratch it just isn't worth the hours and hours of additional work getting them all spot on, especially when I can pick up a second hand model off eBay cheaply to use.

JakubMB: I say go for it, second hand, beaten up models off eBay are perfect for looting (or just buy one of these when they go up on eBay...!).

Let me add my Kudos to your work.

The Tank Hunta is a great bit of work that manages to be squat and Orky while being believeable and having <gasp> attractive lines. I may have to loot you on this baby.

The Looted Russ combines GW parts with scratchbuilt very nicely. I love the socketed weapons! The turret manages to be blocky without being KV1 cartoonish - nice aesthetic. I like it better than the hyperdramatic look some modellers prefer. The rivets and roughened edges on the armor plates are just the level I like as well. The engine compartment is just awesome!

I'll try to bid on these puppies, but I expect you'll command a much higher price than I can afford.

Job's a good'un!
