Hello folks,
I've been posting on fish'ead Online for a while (switch between Orks and fisheads a lot) and someone over there recommended this forum to me. I've got a long time Gargant project underway, thought you all might want to see it. Here's the link to the TO project log: Gargant Log I've done a good bit of work since the last update, and I'll probably update this thread, as I don't spend much time on TO anymore. -------------------- |

Here's the update promised:
Did some more plating on the sides, and added the round thingey at the base of the Lifta-Droppa arm; part of "beefing it up a bit". Put the two little gunner's nooks on the front. Going to use one of the BW kits Big-Shoota guys in each and 1-2 on the upper back porch. Lastly started on the Grot Nuke. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I was going to use the turret from the BW kit on the other shoulder with a sort of an oversized Zzap gun, but I don't know if it's big enough now, might need a Baneblade. Stil a lot of detailing to go, and after that, about a year's worth of rivets -------------------- |

The only problems I have are the arms- they could do with a lot of pistons and cabling, to both make them look more "worky" and to bulk them up- they're a little bit weedy atm. The cannon is also a tad small, but I think once its been gubbinzed up it'll be fine. Keep up the good work!

The arms are going to get a lot more attention, I'm mainly trying to work from the center outward, I just have to do something "fun" every now and them when I get bored with plating the hull.
The Kannon arm actually looked way too long (IMO) until I made the loader's deck, now it does look a little small. I plan to add some elevation gear thingies (like the ones on the Bassie) later. The problem with the LD arm is the way I've modeled it. Given the PVC pipe structure, it doesn't look like it should be able to pivot l/r. Any suggestion on what to do to it to make it look like it can swing up/down. I'm not crazy about the look of a crapton of hydraulics, but I can put some on if needed. -------------------- |

What the LD arm really needs is some huge crane-like contraption for loading shells. Also, the featureless PVC kannon has got to be gubbinized. The supa rokkit needs to be pointy as well IMHO. The plating is top notch, looks good.

Actually, I bought the ladders just like that. They came in two long strips and I cut them to size. They were at a hobby shop(not one with 40k stuff) with the plasticard and model train scenery stuff.
I like the idea of a loader crane, but what should I do with the gun itself? -------------------- |

Wow! It's progressing nicely, Fraggle. Excellent use of those Battlewagon bitz, by the way - the grot on the rokkit'll look absolutely awesome when he's done, I'm sure. As for what needs work, I agree with the others that something needs to be done with that Lifta Droppa.
And for the crane idea that others have thrown out, you could make some rail mounted shell lift running along that bottom of the 'shoulder' plate toward the breach. I don't know why you'd do it to the Lifta-Droppa arm, I'd do it to the Kannon arm, personally. Best of luck continuing working on it, -Grandpa Ducky |

Thanks everyone, and nice to see ya Duck.
I'm thinking I'll make something from the wreckin ball for the Kannon arm, when I get a truk, that is. You've all said the Kannon needs to be "bigger" can you give me some specifics or images to compare it to? I'm not sure what to do with it as I was going for the recoiling artillery piece look, like a bassie, so most of it would need to be smooth. For the LD arm, I wanted to add this: ![]() either on top of the arm or on the "hip" just below it along with an unreasonable amount of wires. The generator is FW, though, so if anyone knows of a good substitute readily available in the states, that would be great. -------------------- |
