I voted for Suki.
Uber's paint job is fantastic, and though I did not care for the jagged armor plating in the build process his painting and paint chipping is just... wow. Additionally the glyphs turned out great, and the blending is incredible. Overall very orky, very speedy, and very killy looking Why did I vote for Suki? Suki's build though clean by comparison is still very orky. The armor plating looks as though it was carved out of other tanks or large sheets of metal and positioned, with relative orky care by a mek with a vision. The minimal drivers cab, and the grot rigger bays on the side are a great touch. What really stood out to me were the following. The gems on the cab hatch and the search light... ace, the rust effects on the exhaust pipes and chains... ace, and lastly, the Boomgun? Beautiful! Its got a loading area, and a hatch, and it huge! I love all the little details, the dagz on the blocky section, the gears for raising or lowering the boomgun. Its just a great build. Overall, I think I voted for Suki's becuase I prefer the slightly more clean look and feel. It's more in-line with the Bad-Axe style Krooza spoke of in his Looted Wagon thread. Which is kinda the style I prefer and since both paint jobs are excellent I had to go with which build style I fit more my preferences. You should both be very proud of your creations, they are both excellent. Hopefully your challenge will inspire some more similar type threads. Great job! -------------------- Greyfen

I voted for Skuigod's creation. I don't think it's a question of which is 'more Orky' - that (as the Stompa debate shows) is very much a question of personal perception. I just thought Sukigod's looks more functional, and the design is closer to the sort of thing I like to field. I also liked his attention to the details, as Greyfen has set out.
This was a great idea, and resulted in 2 superb models. I hope we see more good-natured contests like this. -------------------- Oddballz

I voted for suki cos he's neat n the way he orkfy the vehicle is neater.
His removable cannon is also a plus. Uber's painting is nice too but the jagged edges ar just..too jagged and busy.. But nice showdown! Keep it going, u two are still good though!! |

I voted for Uber for the reason as stated in the original WIP thread. While IMO Suki's build was more to my aesthetics as an ork, I couldn't shake the image of Uber's wagon being some crazy speed freak vehicle that looks like it'd ram you before shooting at you so it wouldn't miss. While it's a bit OTT for my taste, I guess I personally went with the paint and which build was more oozing with character.
Again, if I were to build something, I'd likely end up with something more along the lines of Suki's piece. I've mostly been inspired as a modeller by stuff that I've seen from guys like Krooza, NS, GT, Oddz, etc. Leading me toward a cleaner detailed build, but at the same time, I believe it may have resulted in my direction becoming less whacky and character driven as something like Uber's creation might represent... |

on a side note.....many people have noted how sukigods vehicle can have options on it. mine does as well. you can remove the boomgun and place another piece of plasticard over the hole and if i decide to add extra guns they can go into a hole on the top of the wagon. as well as the ram being removable. just thought i'd let you know. have a good one guys.

I voted for Uberdark. Suki's vehicle is, doubtless, an incredible piece of work (both in terms of build and paint). However, Uber's has a verrrry unique look to it, and the paintjob is just phenomenal. Either way, both of you wound up with wonderful vehicles. We should have these face-offs more often.

Uber, I wish you would have showcased your vehicle's options better. To be honest that's what tipped the vote into Suki's favor for me. I liked your design a little more and I slightly preferred your paint job but when it came down to it I decided that I'd like to own Suki's more because it was modular.

Suki... If you had converted a 2nd edition Rhino you would've got my vote
Seriously though, I voted for Uber. The builds are on par and the paint is well-matched. I can relate to what is happening right now... I have rust and grime on many of my models and that alone has caused me to get low (very low) painting scores at local RTTs. I can see your design getting this even more so Uber, as Beaky players and people in general, have a tendency to dismiss something that doesn't have clean lines as being a pile of junk, discounting the efforts put into it. -------------------- CODE Originally Posted by Uthan the Perverse in 'Culture vs. Kultur: Thoughts on Orkish Society' The Orks are the pinnacle of creation. I voted for Uber.
Whilst both wagons are clearly VERY awesome, when it came to the decider, I felt that Uber's Organ O Death really drew me in a lot more. The design and concept of it is so striking and unique. Suki accomplished a brilliant build, but I can't help but think it's a little safe. Tremendous work both of you, I've really enjoyed watching these progress, and hope there's more to come -------------------- mo0g's Badmoons

Well done to both Meks - both of your wagons are drool worthy and very lootable.
Deciding which was my favourite was a close thing. Uber's paintjob is amazing, especially the blending on the glyphs, but Suki's build just tipped it in his favour for me. The level of detailing, rusty chains and overall style is more to my personal taste. I hope we see more good-natured contests like this. Keep your eyes peeled, I'm planning one with DocNuk for later in the year. -------------------- Ork Town III - Terrain building competition, sponsored by Ramshackle Games.

i went for uber in the end, as tough a decision it was to be honest i went for uber in the end because i just love to see orky individuality of a tank like ubers.
both builds are so nice to look at i love sukis subtle details and nice paintjob, but uber just has such a twisted ork effect to a tank what i felt didnt push over to crazy at the end of the day! i hope one day i can do something similar with someone else, maybe if anyone is up for it give us a message or something -------------------- Ye Charge Or ye Get Charged.
