There's some great work in this thread, I especially like your Lootas and the warboss looks like he's coming along nicely. thumbs.gif

Thanks also for the step-by-step pics and tutorials - I always find them very useful.

I'd paint the bosspole tassle purple - if I can't decide what colour to paint something (and it's not already yellow) then it becomes purple. winkingOrk.gif

Thanks Gaf-Naz. It's funny you mention purple.. I've never really had a reason to use pruple but decided to recently play with those colors and like what I'm getting, I think I will go purple with the tassel. The colors will go well and I'm pretty confident in making it look right as well. I also like thesimplicity in the reasoning, almost as good as "red one's go fasta!"

Made some more progress on the warboss last night, half way done with the skin. It's kinda tough to get an idea of what the finished product will look like when you paint it in parts but now that I see the parts (skin anyway) together, it's starting to com together.

Ein (jamsessionein, depending on forum) pointed out a perfect resource for buzzsaws for us ork players to add some killy deff to out deff koptas. I ordered some and here's what they look like for reference/scale. Pretty dang spot on. I'm simply going to chop off the pole and magnetize it to where the engine intake is located between the skids - it's a perfect fit. (ok, I'll most likely convert some with extensions from different zoids bits I got in the bitz box...)

I also started assembling the boyz from the Black Reach box set. I'll use some of these to fill out a 'ard boyz mob (adding shoulder pads, iron gobs, etc.), the rest just go for the grist mill and Green Tides. Sometimes I wonder who is more intimidated by this. The person who faces it across the deployment zone or the person who assembles/paints it?

Red Jack is coming along slowly, but surely. Finished the back piece, started the shoota arm and made progress on the shirt, straps and pants.

Another problem of being a packrat mekboy is I always seem to find more projects, even when I'm not looking. Came across this the other day for $10 and could'nt pass it up. Everything about this is screaming LOOT ME! It's also got the thinner profile and looks a bit similar to the image int he Ork Codex in the Battlewagon entry.

Just the idea of looting a garbage truck makes me smile. biggrin2.gif

p.s. It makes grinding and dumping noises when you "empty" the dumpster in the front arms...

Nice find! It looks a bit high for a vehicle but you could easily shorten it. The front dumpster would make a perfect liftable deff rolla. Or you could turn the dumpster into a scoop and toss the umies inta the back and squish em! thumbs.gif Nice progress on the boss! Good luck on the rest and extra luck on the garbage trukk. I gotta see that converted up proppa!

Maybe take the back off, make your own flat bed/bunker troop compartment, definatly turn that lift into a deathroller, and stick some Orky teeth on the front grill smilingOrk.gif

Yeah you could make a garbage trukk for fluff purposes. Every time a tank got blown up in a game, you could plop it in the back and drive off! I'd keep it as a garbage trukk, just ork it up obviously. More trash for the trash god!

No problem on the post, kill'taLot. As for all the ideas for the garbage truck - it's fun to see others get as excited as I was over a $10 toy... smilingOrk.gif

There's some cool ideas (and a few of my own) that I'll eventually put to use in this. I'm thinking of keeping the "box" on the back just to make sure there's enough there so people can easily see it "was" a dump truck, but add enough to make sure it's orky. There will be a turret or two added to the top of the cab and I'm thinking of either the kill kannon or a regualr kannon in the hole/space at the top of the dumper area.

I'll add a few hatches/planks coming out of the side so there's no question it's 'ard cased and I'll see about hanging a few orks off the back like they're hangin' out, ready to pick up can (kan?) or two on the move. Lots of cool ideas coming and thanks for the ideas!

Finished off the AoBR Warboss today. Not as well as I would have liked. I made major blunder that I'm not going to go back and fix. I forgot that superglue accellerants effect paint and plastic and mussed up the face in the process. I'll live with it though.

I also tried my new lightbox for photos and it'll take a while to get used to it and what settings will work with my camera but I'm not going to experiment much now - some other day. I will get ti to work so I can use the super duper professional setup though and post it for voting.

Here's the new Red Jack.

i'm not sure what will be next. It's either 40 sluggas, speed painted (heh, that's kinda funny) or five nobs, or a few beakies for testing.

Truly inspiring work, your paint jobs are enough to make me reach for the brush. Keep posting, I think you have a bit of a following on the Waaagh!

Your skin looks fantastic, but I have a sneaky question, do you do all that work on all your boyz too? looking at the lootas I guess the answer is yes, but if you have any tips for quick n gnarly skin I'm all lugs angryork.gif

Thanks again
