Thanks, and with the advent of Foundation Paints, it all becomes a lot easier!
That, and I've had a few years experience (for "a few" read "he's an old git"! winkingOrk.gif )
I'm nowhere near the level of some of the guys I know, I would consider myself to be at a good table top level, maybe "plus" in all honesty.
I don't attempt anything further as I don't want to spend any longer than I already do painting stuff and I have no intention of entering any serious painting competitions.

My painting method is fairly simple.
Base colours get slapped on fairly roughly, and then detail colours get put on, for the most part this is the hard stuff done.
I then use a lot of ink and paint washes on various parts of the minis.

Then the longest part, going back and tidying up my mistakes as best I can. And believe me, there's usually a lot of these! LOL

Hope this gives you some encouragement, you don't have to be a Golden Daemon level painter to paint well enough for the table top!
Neatness actually gives you probably 70% of all you need to be a good painter, hence why most of my time is spent "tidying up" my painting!

It's all "smoke and mirrors" really. LOL
Give the impression that your army has been painted to a high standard from arms length, and that impression stays even when they're looking at your stuff "up close and personal" and seeing all the faults etc.

Good luck with your painting, and remember, practice does help.

I think you need to get a firm hold on those breasts and do something with them.

Thanks, this is my only venture into the Fantasy miniatures and away from the Sci-fi gaming.
And, with the possible exception of Mordheim at some stage in the future, is likely to be my only venture into Fantasy.

I'm pleased with them I have to say. Something different as you can use a different palette to normal 40k drabs and dirty colours, after all, this is a Team and has to have colourful Team Kits right? winkingOrk.gif
