@mad grot docsnik: wowa, great idea! i will definately try that, i'll tell you how it went in a short while, i plan to make shuriken from squre sprue slices.
@da grimpond: thanks man! @gaf-naz: Jika Tabi, got it! @Skargob Zagbad: Hmm, i'm not sure- i recall that there were clans, but i dunno if they were independent or bound to a lord or something... and yes, i plan to festoon them with weaponry, especially if i manage to make lotsa shurikens n' throwy bits small update now: I worked on the crossbow, it came out ok but i didn't like the cord i tried to stretch on the crossbow... maybe i could string it again or maybe just eliminate the cord altogether. I also added thigh patch and a strap around his chest to support the Xbow. I also finished the mask teef, sorta based on a kommando burna mask if i recall (don't actually have that mini or pic, but i kinda remember the design). I also addd the strap to the left arm. ![]() so, option 1 or option 2? i blue tacked it a bit crooked there cuz i was trying to avoid bluetacking over the fresh GS but i managed to fail at both posing and preserving the GS witch i had to once again resculpt... for now i think prolly option 1 for me... i will also add: arrow quiver, shurikens... hey, i'm almost done! C&C are always very welcome! cheers! |

I was pleasantly surprised by these - reading the title I didnt think I'd see anything Proppa (no offense) - but youve proved me wrong! You threw ninja concepts with orky values almost flawlessly, these are very impressive. Kudos on the concept sketches btw, and I laughed myself off my chair at the ammo runt with a bird sat on his head!
Will you be using any Burna heads for these guys? Theres one wearing a bandana over his face with a pair of goggles covering his eyes, seems it would be ideal for these kinds of Orks. Great GS work as well! Also, I vote for option 1, purely because it looks better and would practically make drawing it from his back a lot easier -------------------- QUOTE Yeah, thats one fine lookin' codex. WHY DOESN'T MINE LOOK LIKE THAT QUOTE Just more money, you know? Deffskulls dont get enough money! Other klans have lots of money, we want some of that money! How about the Bad Moons? Bad Moons make a lot of money, so give us some of that money! Bad Moons Wins: 5 / Draws: 1 / Losses: 1 |

Heelloow there waaghers! nice to see so much interest in these extra sneeky kommandos!
@lorax: i agree pose 1 looks better. I plan to make more straps with pouches and knifes hidden away in his clothes. @warboss cammerz: Oh yeah, i'll definately make some different crossbow wielding ladz. I think the mais problem with the Xbow is the handle, it would fit better if instead of a pistol grip it had those shotgun/rifle butts. @Big Mek Greasegasket: heheh glad it wasn't disapointing @Narziss: yessir! hehe i'm practicing your wash based skin painting tutorial form the rebel grots to use on these fancy pancy elite units so, back to work- definately the crossbow looks better in pose 1 but i came up with an issue. i am considering making another thing to slap onto his back cuz the crossbow seems a bit unbalanced and unwieldy, well.... in a non orky way i mean. Now i am starting work on the next ninjas- this next one is da crowchin' stalka. He's sneekily moving forward observing the battlefield. I thought of maybe putting the crossbow in his hand or maybe a ninja-to. I'll make the sword today to mock up and compare to holding the big Xbow to see what looks better in the end. This lad was quite troublesome, i had to chop up all of his leg to get the pose and mid build his leg fell off anyways, this is how he looks right now ![]() C&C are welcome! I have also tested my shuriken mold and it works fine! i'm making quite a few to slap onto da ladz. but it takes some time... i'm considering making a few more molds to speed up the process. next update-sword vs Xbow mockup and some more details like belts, holsters and weapons pouches. Also will make one sneeking over terrain ready to throw a ninja star, and maybe i'll try an ork without padded armour just to see how plain black pijama ninjas look. not sure where i'm going next. cheers and thanks for the comments! |

That current boy's really nice. I'm loving the classic 'ninja-who's-just-done-some-flipping-out' look.. The weapon you'll be putting in his right hand really needs to be held under-handed.
And perhaps if you put a log or rounded piece of scenery on the front of his base, and rotate the 'landing hand' so his hand fits neatly around it. Again, lovely job. May I request some other classic ninja-style poses? Do a google search of images for 'ninja', 'ninja stance', and 'ninja pose' - see what it comes up with. I look foreward to the next ninjwaagh, thanks for sharing. - Darce -------------------- Move along, nothing to see here...

A scorpion type mask would be cool, but maybe a lot of work. It'd look wicked though, not askin' for the harpoon or anything but his mask just looks cool.

Really impressed on how these are turning out, Peacecraft. How many do you plan on making, exactly?
I can't wait to see you start painting these guys up, honestly. I always get a kick out of seeing things after they are painted, after seeing them put together. -------------------- Believe it or not, my Avatar is a heavily Orkified version of my face. PM me with details and a picture to work off of if you want one done of you.

This progress really has slipped unda the radar so to speak...
and its damned good work too. Lovin that crossbow, have you considered using the bits from the dwarven ranger kit? some of those more mechanical looking crossbows would work really well. Like hand crossbows, wither as pistols or something on the fore arms... good regardless. shade -------------------- Of course all my topics are pic heavy, you know why? because people don't want to open 12 hyperlinks a page! it stands to reason

Hi Peacecraft
Lovely work (especially the greenstuff) Dont be afraid to use "heavy" thread for both the cross bow strings and ties downs - when painted it looks like coarse rope - the thicker the better and comes on spools which can then be used for terrain! it is easy to wind and work with and lays "more naturally" than the greenstuff or plastic. I'm late but an option 1 fan too - since they are orks at least some of them should be carrying their bows loaded, and accidental discharge into their fleshy nether regions (their ass) would make for a humourous fig. keep up the good work. Picture of thread in action - my spawn "the Puppet Show" for the Clown Corps - I would suggest black or brown thread for the ninjas

i want them. i want them all.
al of your ninja turtles, ah sorry, ninja orks. i am so happy you finished them. now you need a nob that is looking a little ratlike..... -------------------- In the end, it was the Sunday afternoons he couldn't cope with, and that terrible listlessness which starts to set in at about 2:55, when you know that you've had all the baths you can usefully have that day, that however hard you stare at any given paragraph in the papers you will never actually read it, or use the revolutionary new pruning technique it describes, and that as you stare at the clock the hands will move relentlessly on to four o'clock, and you will enter the long dark teatime of the soul.
