I just remembered some new rumor for 5th edition is models can over look infantry, and target onto Monstrous creatures, Vehicles, walkers, skimmers, etc. So does this mean that grotz CANT be used for cover, because of there size!?!?

I've consolidated Tepok's thread with the others.

Tepok - was there any sign of any terrain in the set?

Is it just me, or are GW making all their starter boxes really good these days? The quality isn't usually what you'd call spot on, but the value is unquestionable.

I don't like speculating, but I'm assuming the terrain will be less 'wow' as the crashed aquilla was, I assume we'll get a few pieces like the Skull Pass set, pretty, but not huge - saying that, I bought macragge partly wanting the Aquilla, so I'll happily trade this for more usable models.

Would I be wrong in thinking this might 'nod' to the 2nd Ed boxed set in some way?

EDIT: although the beakies were blood angels not Ultras I seem to remember...

I'm not 100% happy with all the rules I've done yet, but as a note to all the Rebel Players out there needing rules for their Rebel Units I invite you to get in touch with me either by PM/Email/MSN and I'll try to help you out where I can and arrange it so you can get a few previews of what I've written so far.

I saw the rulebook and the pictures we have but they were in focus, the death copas are very petite but oh so spikey choppa.gif . The boys in the box seem to look the exact same BUT the only downside seems to be the warboss is quite tiny.

Thank you Grishgrub! This is gonna rock and roll!

Wish I could tell how big this Warboss is, looks a bit weedy.

But that Zagstruk is fantastic.

Not so sure of the boss. The PK looks tiny but that might just be from this angle.

Well he is standing on 40mm base and when I try to compare that and my metal warboss he somehow seems to fill his base more than my current one => he might be even bit bigger than metal warboss. Hard to be sure, but I would be surpriced if he would be smaller.

Definetly going to get that box, those koptas look sweet.

i hope these are actually the items that are in the box just not a rumor. i'll have to get a couple of them. hopefully its a real rulebook and not just an abbreviated book that is only enough to get you by for the set.

Like any addict, I was sold on the rumored content even before any pics surfaced. Ireally don't need them to flesh out my Waaagh!, I just need to "collect 'em all!"

Looking at those pix... that boss may be bigger than we think. He's filling up that large base pretty well. Weedy little klaw though... but he'll be great for conversion work. With the way his legs are spread, shouldn't be too much effort to get him on a bike for those so inclined.

I love the fact the the koptaz are modeled swooping in, much more dynamic then the old GM model.
I find it a little strange that they opted for rokkits on the koptaz though, rather than sticking with TLBS. Appreciated, but out of the ordinary for GW.

From the looks of it, the warboss is only fit to count as a Nob, but I'll wait until I see a closer picture w/ barry to decide for sure.

btw, I heard earlier (don't remember where) that the mini-rulebook would only include the bare-bones rules required to play the starter game, and not the full rules. Does anyone know for sure?

Magrok, I've heard from both a GW employee and numerous rumor reports that the rules will be stripped down and incomplete. Time will tell though. At least the 5th edition book looks like it will be really cool though.

I'm likeing them Deffkoptaz thumbs.gif . Even if they all do look pretty much da same. Boss dont look to bad either. Assuming that the boyz in da Koptaz are roughly the same size as a regular boy I would say that that Boss is around the size of the current metal nobz maybee a bit bigger. This would also help explain the new small Nobz we get with da boyz box. Just a thought.
Thanks for da pics Grish thumbs.gif .

I'm not quite sure about the terrain, it was all on a table, with some GW terrain (hills and some of the trees) in a desert style, much like the pics in the rule book, there were some barricades too, but I'm not sure if they were hand made or from the set.
I'll try to check soon, maybe even tommorrow.
