Just got my hands on some trukk bitz and big lugga bitz... So rather than make a trukk and a big lugga, I made a big lugga and a cutta. I tried to make them much more similar to the drawings in digganob than the actual GW kits.

The lugga is mostly done, the cutta is getting there. Being as the cutta is built off of a lugga frame... my lugga is about twice the size of the geedub one!

Without further ado:

It always irritates me that Gorkamorka threads, particularly Rebel Grot ones - get so little attention! Still, I suppose that's to be expected seeing as only so many of us old farts remember them. I absolutely adore these and I'm very cross with you if you got the Lugga bits through the waaagh because I've been trying for ages to get one! Still, that aside, these are wonderfully imaginative builds! Some pics of some other vehicles would help for scale if you could pop a few pics up of that - the Lugga looks very much like the artwork - but it seems rather huge for me - at least if you're using it in Gorkamorka anyway. Nonetheless, I think they're great - I particularly chuffed with how you've made the bits cover it quite nicely. Still they're much bigger than they ought to be, imo, but that's not much of a problem really - especially if you're using 40k bases and not the old GM ones! I wish I'd thought to do this with my trukk!

I agree with Dim, both that GM threads deserve more attention and that these are great models. I also think you have the size right since you will more than likly be using the new 40k models. I'll have to keep these in mind for when I get round to modelling my rebel Grot vehicles.

i like em, only point that needs attention, are the canonballs on the big lugga, seems to me like they would just roll of the panel and gives you some flat grots when the thing moves. other than that, me sa like it :thumbs

Not when its a modelling thread. Gorkamorka modelling threads have always been posted in the mek's garage for as long as I can remember. Seeing as they're 40k models really, and Orks, it is pretty much the right place for it.

Most of the Gorkamorka grot range is still available via mail order, unless its changed very recently - the vehicles are no longer available, but they are pretty easy to convert, and many of us have.

As for the rules, they are available free to download and use from the specialist games site found ere along with many other golden oldies!

Nice builds! The big lugga was meant to be the grot equivalent of a truck, but you've built something that's more like a grot battlewagon! Your rebel mob must be popular with Da Komittee :cheers

yeah, the size is a bit big. Unfortunately the only bases I have are the 40k size slottaz, which don't work out so well on the old sized vehicles. I knew I was going overboard when I was building it, I kept finding more cool bitz to attach. Ah well, it was fun and my local guys don't mind it being so big since it still can only actually hold so many grotz. I'll post pics tonight with grotz on them and a side by side with the trukk so you guys can get a good size comparison.

So here's the size comparison:

Big lugga 10 grotz (including onboard crew), 5 snotz... wow... maybe I did make it to big!
Trukk 6 boyz and a nob (including driver)

Trukk vs. cutta (cutta has 5 grotz and 5 snotz)

Front shot for size comparison:

Top shot for size comparison:
Lugga is shorter than trukk by about an inch on either side

So I figured I had the models out... might as well do a spot of work:
