This is the warboss Bull Gunta Grim Smakk (on foot and not in his Mega Armor). Modeled (converted) by me and painted by my friend Will several years back.

He has an Amo Runt too I'll have Pics of them together in a later post. They have a magnetic base to keep them in base contact.

He looks a bit stock, but no less spectacular for that. Very nice paints.

Is he based with oreo creme or just not based?

He is Based with Deco Art Sandstones stone like textural acrylics color grey stone I picked it up at a local craft store.
I personally don't like most bases I see and try to keep the attention on the model not the base. So my bases are minimal I wouldn't base them at all if I could but in turnies your docked if your not based.

Personally I´d say base him. The base it self is pretty awfull, and ruins the good painted ork. A base often makes or ruins the model. Right now I´d have to say its more ruining than doing good. But the ork itself, not much I think looks bad winkingOrk.gif

The model is great, but like the rest of 'em, i think the base is lame. Just a simple black, plastic GW one is fine. The grey is just a little too...grey. And not nice. Black is stylish but doesnt attract attention. Goes with any colour, you know?

The metalicz look gud but the skin tone is too bright n colorful for my taste.
I also have to say the base doesnt suit the model.

I like what you've done with this guy. Nice conversion folloewd up by an equally good paint job. thumbs.gif

As for the base, maybe keep what you've got around the bottom and put some dirt and static grass on the top part. I think the brown and green would contrast nicely with the grey and add to the models overall appearance.

Remember, he's da boss and the centerpeice of your army. He should look cool before he gets blown off the table in turn 2 or 3. winkingOrk.gif

loving the highlights on his face thumbs.gif

as mentioned before, re base him. as a warboss he should look the best model in your army IMO, so just had some junk from your bitz box then stick him on top. It's what i did ! biggrin2.gif

Yes he has an Ogryn body and gun (good eye search.gif ) and after such a pounding from everyone (as needed constructive criticism whip.gif . The guys I play with say pretty much the same thing soapbox.gif ) I will rebase him (and the rest of my boyz crybaby.gif ) and I'll post new pics. I appreciate ALL of your comments Thanks. thumbs.gif

I've been working a little on Bull Gunta Grim Smakk. I have started Basing/Rebasing him driled out the gun barrle added a little more paint to the gun and added his Boss Pole (witch is removable) here too is his Amo Runt (base needs work) and the magnetic base to keep him in base contact.

Up Date on an old post.
I finally based my Warboss in a way that most fits the model, I think.

I finally found and bought another OOP Warhammer 40K metal 'umies Ogryn (NORK DEDDOG). Now I can make another Bull Gunta Grim Smakk all updated with a power klaw. I just have to find another head like the one on the old Bull Gunta Grim Smakk. I didn t want to cut up the old model for sentimental reasons. I will post updates as I work on this project.

Here is how it s going to start out.

I generally don't like ogryn ork conversions as they have the wrong anatomy, but yours seems to fit, looks like a fat boss

Cheerz for reading my post! Really appreciate it

The old, PROPPA looted vehicles from the last codex were like stealing someone's sandwich: looted.
The new, GENERIC looted wagons from the new codex are like buying a sandwich similar to that of your friend: copying.

I have tinkered with the Ogryn removed the head choppa.gif and grenade on his belt, cut off the left arm choppa.gif and added a power klaw and added right shoulder skull from the Black Reach Warboss. I still need to reposition it on the base fill in some of the gaps with GS find an Ork dreadnought rokket launcha. search.gif etc, etc, etc.....

I know I could have just put the Black Reach Warboss together but whats the fun in that?

Nice work on the arm, it's almost as if they were made to go together. Also the pose really suits the weight of the outstreched arm. How'd you go with the head? there must be something close in the AoBR box. Looking forward to how this turns out.

Thanks.
I think I will try to pick up a crappy painted metal Warboss on e-bay I need its head and banner pole/2 guns. I think that will be the easiest and maybe/maybe not the cheapest unimpressed.gif way to get both peaces I need. Then I have to find the stikkbombs to hang on his belt where I cut off the grenade. search.gif

I finally acquired another metal warboss (nib) for the head and banner pole/2 guns thumbs.gif I ve add them to the Ogryn. Now he is an Ork Warboss. yes.gif I cut the banner pole off and drilled a hole in the guns for it, now I can exchange banner poles, and I can modify the new one for both figures.

(Side note) I still need to work in my GS in the more obvious cracks. unimpressed.gif
