Over a year ago I started on this gargant but he took me to long to build so with other stuff to do he started collecting dust in the Mekshop but some of the grots who were searching for usefull bits stumbled on him and and told me to finish him. And with all the Meks here getting ready for an Apocaliptic Waaagh I just had to join in.

Here he is as he stands today:
He is about 20/22 cm.(just over 8")




The gathling shoota start to look okay but I was thinking of turning the mega choppa into a ripperfist. The Snapper arm (aka the problem arm) is going to get a new shoulder joint (taken from a shower) wich works like a real shoulder. He will also get a Lifta Droppa on his right shoulder.

First thing I want to finish is the feet and legs so I can close the side armour up.

I still have a lot of work to do But I'll try to get this project done.

This is a pretty fantastic piece of work there CD.

My only bit of critique is that I think that the body of your chainsaw/chainsword needs to be a bit thicker. right now it looks a bit too thin. If you were to double its present thickness (IMO) I think it would be spot on.

The UberAss Cannon and Power Plant are awesome! Very well done. The similar and perfectly straight, whole teeth don't scream Orky to me though...

How did you give your Berry that proppa Hammer?

Wow thats a nice build ya got there! Loving the toe-kannonz (at least thats what they look like)! The gatling/choppa arm is very well done. What about adding a few smalla gunz on the clamp-arm? That would make him extra stompy!

Andrew; If you look at the rest of my walker you will know they all got straight teeth . The mek just got both his wrists chopped off and repositioned. the hammer is just plastic cart.
Grotfang; They aren'tgoing to be toe kannonz. If you look at some of GW gargants you will see similar feet. I was planning on closing the ends off. When the basic structure is done I put some gunz on it, don't worry.

As for the shoulder I just sawed the joint and drilled the holes through the body and it all fits "YES!"

Aah I finally got the arm fixed. Last night I tought I had it done but then it turned out the joint was screwed on to tight. So today it took me a hour to get lose. But for now the basic of the arm is done and it works.
And I've put a pin into the legs so they'll move a bit tighter.

Realy nice work there crazy dentist. I may have to loot a couple of your ideas for mine. Cant wait to see it finished. the level of detail even without the final rivitation is realy nice.

There's something with your "crushy" arm that I don't quite like. Maybe it is that it is too "out of the box" and not really choppy but crushy.

I like it when it is closed.
But not so much when it is opened.

I would like to se spikes (and holes for the spikes to pierce). Like dozer blades instead of the uniform patern. Some teeth and whatnot.
Maybe my issue is that it is too regular. I dont know.

That aside, this is a great design! Kudos for the movile parts. Shower thingy was a great idea!

Phindar; You are so right, the arm is crushy and not choppy as it's a snapper arm. Based on the snapper from the old great gargant.
When the pistons are done it won't be able to open that far any more. It looks kinda weird now. It will get outer teeth on it.

I picked up some magnets so I can exchange the guns later too.

Your build is coming along nicely, a Gargant well worth resurrecting. And you have supplied very clear and easy to follow construction notes.

I think that the shoulder socket idea is really innovative... it's looted!

Using a snapper as a CC arm is a nice idea,just don´t forget to add twin steam sprayers to it (could be represented as twin/mega scorchas in game)! Indidcated by the arrow below:



I suggest altering the right boxy eye opening of your gargant´s head though,maybe add some more plastic card or an eye brow to it. At the moment it looks to me like half of his head was shot off...

Here is how the head is so far. The driver is in there but the hatch and the roof will go on ther after I've painted him.

No mek gargant can do without a Lifta Droppa. So I sketched one up and made a start on it last night

I think the SLD arm needs to be longer. On the Epic Mek Gargant the shoulder mounted arm its realy long and lookz pretty funky
