[EDIT] ****** FINISHED PHOTO ON THE THIRD PAGE *******
![]() ***************************************************** Let's start showroom. As i said in my first thread "When Grots steal an Imperial Jeep", I'm working on a funny project. I'm building a MekBoy's Lifta Droppa Speedsta from epic to 40k scale. The first idea is to build a lifta droppa and count it as a zaap gunwagon. Later, I could also build some other turrets to fit different tabletop solution. So let's start with step by step pictures : ![]() It's the one on the top of this blister, with a huge magnetic lifta droppa gun ![]() This is my first idea about the speedsta itself, without the turret. I wanted to add a funny and personnal touch to this speedsta, so I made this orky head ram bumper, huge, tough, so ork! ![]() The noze was quite hard to do with just rigth angle. This is a very slow work. ![]() And then a big V6 powered engine and its fuel tank. ![]() At this step it looks like a boat ! ![]() wheels protections added, which fit 1 front and 2 back large GW wheels ![]() The back cab is closed ![]() i added some air filters ![]() The rear driver door. I wanted it with an angle to fit the top of the cab. I'm quite pleased with the result. -------------------- My french blog : ..... www.leplastiquealacarte.com ..... Da Resin Deff Wagon .....

![]() then i began to add more details, such as the rivet's plate over the wheel's protection. I also started the Ork's head ram. ![]() Even if i'm not sure the gunwagoon had some heavy shoota, i feel good to add one on each side. ![]() More and more details, this step takes so much time! You see the earing ?? ![]() A sky view, just to be sure I respect my initial drawing. ![]() As for now, this is how it looks. The rigth side is not yet began. When the other side will be done, i will begin the magnetic gun turret. -------------------- My french blog : ..... www.leplastiquealacarte.com ..... Da Resin Deff Wagon .....

I really like it.
[EDIT: I see you posted more pics The door looks great. As does everything else. Not sold on the beading, but maybe once they are painted they will be ok. Very cool Ork head on the front! to be honest, i cant suggest anything, except maybe some details on the sides of the cabin? just armor plates maybe? I hope that my BW can look half this good when its done |

@fester
Thanks for comments, it's so funny to build. Cabin's side is not yet finished. I think I will put a round side door on each side, such as a twin imperial turret door. -------------------- My french blog : ..... www.leplastiquealacarte.com ..... Da Resin Deff Wagon .....

Looks absolutely fantastic. I always love seeing an olde skool(e) design come together. Just one small nitpick. I think the ears on the front could be a bit thicker.

I just checked Kult Speed rules, i'm gonna change the heavy shoota by a home made roket launcha, more efficient configuration.
I hope gunwagon will still be in the new christmas codex. however I could always play it as a FW Zaap gunwagon! -------------------- My french blog : ..... www.leplastiquealacarte.com ..... Da Resin Deff Wagon .....

Oooh aaaah... this is very nice indeed. The ears could stay that thin but if so I'd bend one a little to look like perhaps a rock hit it and warped it while da mek was speeding around. I like the beading, very very nutty. I noticed the scoop (air intake) changed positions, 2 would've been cool in the original position if they was one on each side. The door on the back is really nice as is the engine. The exhausts are okay but some flame glyphs or something or maybe a few holes so it looks rusty... What do you plan on doing for the tires?

The first scoop (air intake) position was quite good, i think i will get it back to that position, one on each side.
As i said, i'll remove the heavy shoota and find a new position for a roket launcha. I also want to add more pipes on the engine. I'm not satisfy about my small icons on the side, i'll make some flame glyphs which make great speedy look. -------------------- My french blog : ..... www.leplastiquealacarte.com ..... Gah! Don't pull the little glyphs!!! I think they add alot of character!! It looks like they're telling some sort of story to me and pulling them would bring a tear to my eye

I must say, I really like this build so far; but then, I've always been a big supporter of the old-skool way..
Oh, and if you're doing more than one turret, you've gotta make a Bubble-Chukka! Anyways, Me likey! -------------------- There is no such thing as an ugly woman; only a lack of vodka -Russian proverb

@ Cyroul:
Yup, that's the very one And yes, now that you say it, a Zzap-wagon would probably be the best way to represent a BubbleChukka-Speedsta -------------------- There is no such thing as an ugly woman; only a lack of vodka -Russian proverb

You work phenomenally fast and cleanly, and your projects look great.
How are you handling these rivets? They seem exceptionally fine and detailed. -------------------- |

They seem exceptionally fine and detailed. I've began this project 4 days ago. For the tiny rivets, i use the HT-92 rivets tool from Plastruct : The Plastruct link, insert HT-92 It works like a pizza cutter ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Pretty easy to do, isn't it! You need to use 0.3mm or 0.5mm thin plastic card, it won't work with thicker plastic. -------------------- My french blog : ..... www.leplastiquealacarte.com ..... Da Resin Deff Wagon .....

The speedsta look awsome. Very big!
As far as the Riviting tool, You just answered all my riviting needs! Wow. I need one! -------------------- "Direction, for me, encompasses the recognition of the control/beatdown relationship but then breaking it and inflicting the reverse on the enemy so that the outcome is desirable for me. I have to do this because I am using a label whoms perameters are set/limited to a water army and I have to redefine them to suit my own style (what ever it is - we still dont know) A simple actual in game example of this is focus fire or shifting/sliding my forces laterally across the table."
"Thus the quality of the generals has changed, forced or contributed - etc - to the allocation of the beatdown/control relationship through direction and application, which, whilst enhanced by army composition, can be independant of it, or so I believe." -Pronto the 2nd - Denizen of Warseer http://warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=186062 Yeah, that's why I read Waaagh!!! and not those other forums. |
