Hey everyone, I have a pretty simple question:

When making a structure out of foam-core, what is the best way to glue the walls together? A glue gun? Model glue? White Glue? Rubber paper cement?

I am curious what you terrain makers out there use when you make your buildings.

Thanks a lot, cheers.gif

Duct tape!

Masking tape, white glue, liquid nails its all good. Just no super glue! It melts the foam.

White Glue is good, but what I recommend is a product called "No More Nails". It's essentially a very thick white glue, sort of like 50/50 glue and caulking. It provides very strong bond, but the best part is because of it's thickness it can be used as a gap filler. So the excess glue will easily fill in any lil crevices resulting from imperfections in your cuts. Plus smearing it on the exposed foam edges protects it from spraypaint.

Although as a Red Green fan I am obligated to say thumbs.gif to squigbrain's suggestion

Gork and Mork must be smiling on your Boyz!!! I use white glue quite often ( a archival safe glue... I work at a frame shop/ art gallery, and go through 25-30 sheets of foamcore a week, (I build a LOT of shadowboxes and such)... Not a whole lot more to add... Whatcha' buildin' anyway????

I use a combination of a hot glue gun and white glue. The white glue is applied, to the foam core, and than I drop hot glue in a few spots to hold things into position while the white glue dries over time. I've found this, as well as adding white glue dipped toothpicks as a type of "rebar" as a very strong and durable binding.

I second the use of No More Nails, and toothpicks as rebar.
