Made a start on this Squiggoth.
The body is made from tin-foil. Two 2 metre rollz where used in it consrtuction at a cost of 32p each .. so thats not too expencive winkingOrk.gif
This will now need to be covered in a layer of MilliPut.
The mouth area looks rubbish at the moment... but dont worry coz that isnt its final shape winkingOrk.gif

There's not much to comment on so far but this definately has some potential thumbs.gif It's only in its early stages but it looks like the eyes are set too far back, if i'm judging correctly from the side view, and I reckon that they should either be moved forward or the mouth area shortened (preferably the first option as the squiggoth would then keep it's current length)

I'll be following this thread with interest yes.gif

First thing that came to mind was the original series Star Trek episode with the planet-eating
weapon... laughingOrk.gif

This is gonna be fun.

I went out n bought three packs of MilliPut '£3.50 each'
It took one whole pack to cover the foil.
In a few hours it will be rock hard, then I can refine the shape n start work on the legs.

I was thinking about cult of speed legs for this thing and a picture of a squiggoth on a scooter came into my mind. In modeling terms It could be a large wheel or track assembly for a foot, with oversized shock absorbers, and the other foot is the kicking/pusher foot. The squiggoth uses the wheel foot as the weight bearing leg and "skates" around. The orks can turn the wheel foot to provide some directional control and the squiggoth could raise the pusher foot and tuck it in for some short turbo sprints on the wheel foot.

Thanks again for the inspiring work.

Yerh my usualy shop has closed down, they used to sell it for £2.30
This other shop is a bit pricey unimpressed.gif
Anyway Ive done the very basic head shape now. This has taken almost a hole pack of millput on its own crazyork.gif
Looks like Ill be buying some more for the legz. Still... its bigger than a FW Squig, and isnt gona cost anywhere near £65 winkingOrk.gif
Im using a hairdryer so each new layer of putty only takes 10 minuets to harden. winkingOrk.gif

Yaarrr!!! It be the White Whale!!! Come back fer me other leg have ye? QueQuheg! Fetch me harpoon! YaaRrr! smilingOrk.gif

Make him less whale-like more squig-like, it's not even that you haven't added legs and such. There is something fundamentally off at the moment, right now it looks like the giant whale sculpture at the nearby kids museum. winkingOrk.gif

OMG that had me in stitches... laughingOrk.gif
remember though that everything is done in steps and our good mr. Kr00zA is simply showing us these steps. I'm thinking at this point it's more of a "how do I" then when he get's a little further along he'll be looking for the input (unless there's a glaringly obvious mistake etc).

laughingOrk.gif Looks like a giant slug!

Sorry, I know it's not finished. Until then, I can't really comment as I have absolutely zero experience with sculping. Good luck with Squigzilla.

Added some basic detail to the head. Eyez, gums, and re-defined the jaws.
The trick to sculpting it so have a clear picture in ur head of wat your making, then u have to break it down in ur mind so u can plan your build.

Oi, get arf 'im. He's just doin' what he's gotta do. Takes a lot of steps to do something this big.

Curious, how big's a pack of milliput that you're paying 7 bucks for?

And whatcha gonna use for teef? Milliput sculpt or carved from another material?

Sorry, just me being impatient. blushork2.gif

Damn it krooza, I had a few really good excuses for not having a squigoth.
Now I will be spending this weekend up to my elbows in tin foil and putty....
THANKS scowl.gif scowl.gif scowl.gif

But seriously, I feel bad for other armies. They don't have a Krooza who makes magic happen with plasticard and putty every few weeks.
With your blessing I would like to "loot" your foil process and try to make a squig of my own.

I will promise to hang a little banner off each side of him with your name, website, and a picture of cookie monster.

looking good so far... is he going to have a howda, or organic weaponry, or cybernetic enhancements? or did i miss that part...

Not sure wat weapons yet. When it comes to that stage Ill choose stuff that doesnt make him look sluggish winkingOrk.gif Id rather he have no weapons n just run about eating stuff, rather than load him up with dakka n have him all slow looking.
Added one leg. These pics show wat his pose will be like. When the other leg is on he wont be draggin his belly across the ground winkingOrk.gif
The foot with be larger when finished, at the moment its just a good shape to build on.

Minor suggestion there, Krooza...you might want to bend the toes back just a bit.

Feet, when up off the ground like that, tend to curve a bit. And it also helps the impression of speed to have as few straight vertical lines as you can manage.
