Right,
I think it's about time we made a tactics blog. I really think that a big tactics blog of suggestions, Q and As and game tactics would be wonderful - especially so we can fit all these suggestions in one place. Right, I'll get the basic basics out of the way. Leaders - NEVER put these guys out in front - if he goes down, you're knackered. covering him and making him a difficult target is important - anything covering him should generally be in less cover than him or otherwise the leader will be an easier target (make note of this for against your opponents!). Him going down means his leadership cannot be used - this is a useful way of making a gang bottle first roll. Also beware leadership contests - make sure your leader is equipped well, or otherwise he may be taken out by a juve with leadership 8!! Juve Shield - the OLDEST trick in the Necromunda book - juves should be in front of important members of your gang - ie leader, heavies - although basically useless - in combat they're quite happy with their two attacks. Never worry yourselves about Juves, they will get experience and be very good, but remember - never get too many - because you need to work your territories much more than lots of juves. Using cover - cover is vital - without cover, necromunda isn't fun and it takes skill to manipulate terrain - the aspect that makes the game tactical. Moving through cover is complicated to explain, but a few things can be said. Do bear in mind that models in cover do not obscure models behind them that aren't. Also cover becomes much more important as campaigns go on because of gangers getting the marksman ability - and sometimes, it's not always a bad idea to stay on the ground floor. The best counter to terrain is shotgun scatter shells and flamers (and hand flamers) This is just a start. lets see MORE!! -------------------- |

Although something interesting: Close combat can make or break a battle sometimes. Even a Juve can get on a roll if he gets lucky. If the enemy bunches up you can jump from one enemy to the other. It can devistate in the right circumstances.
