This is the army I played with from the time of the 3rd edition codex release and until the klan rules was published. Took me a couple of month to construct the armylist and I never finished assembling and painting all the models in the army, before I remade the armylist in a Bad moon ruleset.
1500 points of Tribe, pink skinz. Warboss w/ Choppa, slugga, (5 Nobz w/ 2 Mega armor, Kombi-skorcha, 3 Choppa, slugga), (Wartrukk w/ RL) Big Mek w/ KFF, Choppa, toolz, 3 oliers 5 Stormboyz 2*10 Burna boyz w/ 4 Burnas, (Mek w/ KFF, toolz, 3 oliers) 16 Slugga boyz w/ 3 Burnas 3*1 Warbuggy w/ TL-RL Battlewagon w/ 2 TL-RL, Zzap gun, Red paint, 2*3 Killa kanz w/ 3 RL People on various forums back then told me the army was looking good, my winning records said different! Even though I had lots of rokkit launchers, they didn't do much damage. I'm today highly sceptic towards Rokkits and uses nothing but Big shootas. Even though the army did most damage in it's shooting phase and hence that is why I am playing as a Bad moon today. Main problem I found with this army was that I had my killa kanz and burna boyz left behind wheras everything else engaged the enemy too soon. Usually all those points invested in burnas and killa kanz was rarely to any use. I did get to use them some times when the opponent assaulted me but usually they were just in the way. Burna boyz together with a killa kan is good in the theory but when the kan stops so does the burna boyz. So I though, What do you guys think about this army? People on non-Ork specialzed forums such as portent and dakkadakka thought highly of it but they were not Ork specialist like we. Remember, this is 3rd edition we are speaking of so try to give comments with that in your mind. -------------------- |

Ahh... yes the good old days.
I love the 5 stormboys... in my first list I had a powered up maxed out nob squad and two minimum troops of shoota boys. two full skarboys and three dreds. I thought I was the hottest thing since sliced cheese. I was lucky and the list never made it to models... -------------------- Tiger got to hunt falcon got to fly, man got to sit and think why, why, why? Tiger gets to sleep, falcon swoops and lands, man gets to tell himself that he understands. - K.V.
The new codex is comming ! The new codex is comming ! It will bring us balanced rules and models and will smite our enemies. |

Nob retinue is too pricy, mob sizes are too small for the rest of the army (5, 10, 10, 16 and 5?), way too many burnas, no Grots, the Boss is running around naked, and what's with the big mek when you already have 2 Burnas with KFFs? If he's for the boss, why would you take a 25pt Big Mek over a 9pt Mek when they do effectively the same thing.

No, the Big mek rides the Battlewagon together with the slugga boyz. Reparing the Zzap gun and Battlewagon as well as giving it better protection and no ordnance annihilations! I should have had one for the boss so it wouldn't get erradicated as well. I really liked the idea of mekz back then, and thanks to the mekz. My boyz was absolutely more though to kill then normally boyz would be.
The Burna boyz was well screened and protected behind the killa kanz. And you will have to count the oilers and mek in with the mob count so they were 14 in size. The Stormboyz was a major conversion work and so there numbers grew as time went by and I decided to stop at seven including Nob with Power klaw. Didn't go very far though! -------------------- |

Oilers don't count for mob size checks.

Lemme guess... someone told you that Orkses cant shoot and that youd better get Burnas cuz then you dont have to roll to hit?

I used to do that two when I first started, load up on burnas, my first few real game lists had those as my only special weapons, usually 2 slugga boy squads, and a warboss made the list.
My very first list was my whole colection vs my brothers. I remember panaicing after charging his dreadgnought with my warboss and retiune not realising one of the nobz had a pk I techancly won, but we both had little clue on what we were doing, we don't count the game. |
