hello all. just started playing orks (and by that I mean my lootas and me and my wifes assault on black reach should arrive soon). I started playing the begginning of this year. my main army is crons but always liked ork fluff best. Just didn't like 5ths limitations on them. 6th looks very promising so time to start emmassing an army I can truly enjoy.

I'm a new ork player. Got started playing in the early 90's when my cousin got the old 2nd ed box set. Started with Space Wolves and have played most of the armies available. I have a large guard, space wolves and tin'ead army and wanted something very different so am starting up an ork army as well. Look foward to chatting!

Hey Guyz

after almost 10 years I've decided to go back to the hobby and there is no other army like ORKZ choppa.gif (recently found out there there are few people at my studio who play 40k)

Just wanted to HELLO to everybody here

At the moment my waaaaagh is not that big but slowly grows (90boyz, 3truckz, 9bikerz, Lootaz, Burnaz, 6Deffkopters, DAKKAD JET smilingOrk.gif SAG, KFF's etc)

I'm glad that the 6th edition came out just after I've started playing again as I will lear the new rules just like everybody else. Most of the time I'm playing against tin'eads and BA's, GK.
We will see how my boyz will perform... eeeee.. they will be great, I belive it so it will happen hehe

Cheers

Hey all.
Long time reader, thought with 6ED coming out I should forge a presence for myself smilingOrk.gif
Started playing in 2ED at a tender young age. Took a brief break and came back about a year ago!
Game is a lot more fun now I can drink beer. Anyways, must get back to forgetting important rules and having my arse handed to me by people who care smilingOrk.gif

So, long-time lurker & general ork/cs lover here. With 6th ed just out I figured I'd finally get around to getting a 40k army up, and the orks have always been my first and only love... smilingOrk.gif

Now, I still have a long way to go before I have a complete army, but I'm already pretty dead-set on its eventual composition. Here's a quick run-down of the different units I have in mind winkingOrk.gif (Note : I just lost my codex when I moved a month back and haven't yet located it nor gotten 'round to buying a new one, so am going off the top of my head here in regards to some options like the cyborks and the likes...)

HQ : Megaboss : Deff Wing (with Meganobs)
HQ : Big Mek : Iron 'unz

E : Kommandos : Raving Guard
E : Bike nobz : Sturm Ladz
E : Nobz w/ Painboss -> Cyborks : Iron 'unz

T : Meganobs (+ wagon?) : Deff Wing
T : Boyz (+ trukk) : Flash Terrors
T : Boyz (+ trukk) : Black Tramplers
T : Shoota boyz : Deffwatch
T : Shoota boyz : Skar Phantoms
T : Grots : O' Mega Morons (unsure here...)

F : Plane of some sort (unsure of config) : Waaagh Skar
F : Plane of some sort (unsure of config) : Raven Waaagh
F : Unsure ** Koptaz/Bikerz (Waaagh Skar?) or Stormboyz (Raing Guard?)

H : Kans : Deff Kanpany
H : Deff Dread : Iron 'unz
H : Lootas : Blu' Angels

I'm still tempted in adding in a unit of Burnaz called the Firedakka, or Imperial Fists (can anyone think of a name that would fit?) but their colors wouldn't match the rest of the army's (which are almost exclusively Reds, Blacks and Whites)... crazyork.gif

Anyway, with my modeling/painting station almost up now I should soon have my first pictures up on here... smilingOrk.gif

Hey all. Been playing WHF for the better part of 10 years now and finally decided to branch out into 40k.

Trying to choose my army atm am stuck between Orks, tin'eads and Dark Angels. But I played Orcs and Gobbos in fantasy and they are, above all things, fun.

So I'm hoping their 40k equivalent will be just enjoyable. And I would enjoy shouting MOAR DAKKA!! as I shoot friends in the face.

Anyway all great to be here. Let's do this.

WAAAGH!!!

I've been away for a few editions, and I'm coming back with some friends to the 6th.

I've been challenged to a "historical" battle: The Battle for Badlanding (a prelude to a Rynn's World campaign). My one friend is building a Crimson Fist army, another is going to play a small 'umies force, and I've selected to play a part of the Arch-Arsonist of Charadon's WAAAGH! on the planet Badlanding.

Is the 2007 Codex: Orks by Phil Kelly the most current rules?

I keep stumbling on this forum every time I get the itch to start an ork army, which happens with some frequency, depending on how much Warhammer 40K I'm currently absorbing through various sources.

This time, I thought I'd register.

I haven't played 40K in about 3 editions, and used to play chaos beakies. I've loved orks for ages though, and even have some of the old 2nd edition ork figs in my parent's garage. I really admire all the dedication and love that ork players seem to put into their armies - no matter what changes each edition hands the greenskins, the players make it work and their love for the hobby shines through. Really great stuff. Eventually I'd love to start a Waaaagh of my own - I've already got a small orcs and goblins Waaagh, though again, I haven't played in years. Favorite clans are probably Death Skulls an Bad Moons, because those color schemes seem to work really well with orks.

Looking forward to spending lots more time here in the future!

Hi guys. Haven't played 40k since 2nd ed. Got the Black Reach set, hated the beakie sculpts, but loved the Ork sculpts, so Orks it is.

Looking forward to getting them painted up and getting some games in!

Hey,

Just got started a couple of months ago (just before 6th came out so I'm stuck with the 5th ed)
Black reach box just fell in my mailbox monday so I'm going to start customizing like a mek as soon as my examns finish winkingOrk.gif
Me and the girlfriend wanted to play eachother so we are also going to invest into a beakie army.
At first my love went for the beakies blushork2.gif but after reading more fluff I'm a true blood orkie! cheers.gif

Oi

Long time lurker, finally broke down and joined. Hadn't played 40k in a few years, but when 6th ed came out my friends wanted me to bring the Boyz out of retirement. Seems the LGS is over run with young beakies desperately in need of a deffrolla to the face, hehe

Been playing off and on for 10 years now, much more recently. Bought a kit for 300 dollars from a guy I knew and I've been adding on ever since. Now I've got this crazy ass idea that I want to run Bad Moons teamed up with Decepticons. I'm painting my deffkoptas like the flyers and my big mek has soundwave on his back. Orks rule! Waaaaagh!

Waaagh! Skarpax has begun! (the slow build up part, not the climactic slaughter part. But still propa! Not weedy at all!)

My name's Swindle, I'm a long time ork fan, but I've only ever really understood 5th edition rules as I only played sporadically before that. Now I'm pissed that I have to learn 6th edition.. Oh well, here's my army list:

Swindle’s Brigade (army list)
HQ 1 Warboss on a bike + squig + cybork + bosspole + pk + ammo runt
HQ2 Big Mek w/ KFF + cybork + bosspole
Troop 1 Deff dread + rokkit launcha + kustom mega-blasta
Troop 2 6 Meganobz
Troop 3 20 Slugga boyz
Troop 4 20 Slugga boyz
Troop 5 12 Slugga boyz + trukk + RPJ
Troop 6 12 Slugga boyz + trukk + RPJ
FA 1-3 (all single units) Deffkopta + twin-linked rokkits + bigbomm
Heavy 1 BW + 4 RLs + Zzap gun + red paint (I have a deff rolla too, haven’t decided on it yet)
Heavy 2 Looted wagon + boomgun
Elite 1 4 lootas and 3 meks + big shootas
1720, I got about 30 points left to spend.
Basically, the army is formed around five units, all vehicles, kind of a half speed freak list. BW, LW w/ BMGN, three trukks, and a big mek. Combined with the warboss, I can take a dreadnought and six meganobz as troop choices. I ran this army today and made the mistake of guarding an objective in my territory with these two units, and they never saw close combat.
My orky leftovas: 3 killa kans, 1 extra truck, maybe enough to convert to a shoota mob, 10x burna boyz unit with three meks, two PK nobs and four regular, Ghazgull Thrakka, Mad Dok Grotsnik, 3 more defkoptas and 6 buzzsaws.
